Because Kiss have a clause that specifies that their stage likenesses are protected by copyright so in order to for the makers of this programme to not get sued they had to make subtle alterations to each band members make up.

The band was playing differently without Peter & Ace. Tommy didn't have to teach them "how" to play, but "copy" the current style that Gene & Paul were using. Peter & Ace could NEVER win a vote because if it were a tie at 2/2 Gene & Paul still won it, as the Original founders of the band. Total control over everything is what cost them losing Peter & Ace... The fans ended up with Wicked Lester & 2 hired goons for the last 20 years using backing tracks and miming songs.... From Kiss to Piss and a stain to be remembered by...
