Kiss - Carnival of Souls (Psycho Circus Out-take)

A song written by Gene Simmons and demoed in 1997/98 for the "Psycho Circus" album but not used. It was later re-recorded and released on Gene's 2004 ***hole solo album.

How great would Psycho Circus have been if the multitude of outtakes that were present at the studio made their way to the album. That statement includes songs such as; It's My Life, In Your Face, Body And Soul, I Wanna Rule The World, I Am Yours, Rain Keeps Fallin', and this jewel in the rough, Carnival Of Souls...Oh, how great Psycho Circus could have been.

The Ace and Peter songs they rejected were imaginary cassettes that Ace and Peter thought they had in their back pockets that they thought they recorded just the other day, and there was so much good stuff on them, trust me, but they must have fallen out when I got out of the car and that rain last night washed it into the gutter and the garbagemen were here already, but I tried to find it in the bushes, but those raccoons were taking stuff away and there was so much good shit on there, believe me, really really good stuff, you won't believe it, there were at least 25 songs on there that I wanted you to hear, Paul and Gene, no really, look, I'll try to find it for tomorrow but I can't guarantee anything cos I have a card game and I have the guy I have to meet for a package down near the park, no his name isn't important, but that cassette was awesome lemme tell ya, I mean it, just wait until I get it here later, oh I said tomorrow, but it'll probably be next week sometime because I have to take my daughter to soccer but I'll definitely get that cassette of demos to you Paul and Gene thanks for asking... Two fuckfaces trying to work with two professionals. Yep, I really want to hear Peter's and Ace's excuses for why they have no unreleased demo material.

Jon Dunmore I agree 100%!!! Ace and Peter made their own fucking beds! Paul Stanley is a consummate professional and carried the band on his back throughout the 1980s! There would be no KISS w/o Paul Stanley (and Gene of course)

Musically and lyrically this belongs on Carnival of Souls. Wouldn't fit on Psycho Circus. Body and Soul was just the demo version of Raise Your Glasses with worse lyrics. However, I agree they should have included It's My Life, Sweet & Dirty Love, In Your Face, and a few others. This is better than "I Walk Alone' that had Bruce aping (badly) Ace's vocal style.
