We've all heard stories from the KISS members. But THIS IS GRRRREAT!! At the end Bill mentions ACE'S bunker. When I was a little Kid My Mom worked for a Daycare center in CT. ACE & his wife brought their daughter Monique there. He used to pick her up in his Delorean & let us kids take turns sitting in it. One day a "GIANT" sized man came to pick up Monique the owner (who was probably a shade under 5ft tall) said she had never seen this guy before & needed ID & all that sh..stuff. It turned out to be Gene, they were recording at the Bunker.Gene was the only Member that didn't drink (so I was told). I've met ACE twice as a 6-7 yr old kid.

No makeup, no KISS mystique. If you weren't alive in the '70's it's difficult to convey how big a deal KISS' secret identities were, it made them like real-life comic book characters.

It was real amazing! No bad before or since had that insane vibe, I’m from NY and they used to rehearse close by. I was too young to drive, but I knew people who saw them without it! They talked about that like winning the Lottery!!

Saw Kiss 4 times from ‘75 to ‘78 and it was insane being there and seeing Kiss when they were at their raw best. The crowds were electric and people were passing gas literally throughout the show but the concert was so good that people did not get too upset

Believe it or not. This is funny as hell. What I do know for a fact is; Paul is all about business. He is the most stressed out person I ever met in my life. On stage and in front of camera's. He plays a role. Behind closed doors. He flips the the fuck out. It's kinda scary. I'm sure Ace got the lecture of a lifetime.

I find it interesting, that back in the days. Kiss was broke. It's really cool to see where they came from. From the first day of Kiss, (fast forward), til today. I'm sure they have stories for days. This is a result of never giving up. They turned out to be the greatest band in the world. Influenced a lot of bands that made it big. Rock n Roll is in their veins. Gene helped out Van Halen. He got them going. Just saying. Now, 360 million dollars later. I think he's done very well.

They had bugger all money at the time and nearly maxed our the credit card. It was Neil Bogart, Bill Aucoin and Sean Delaney that made it happen plus the persistence of the group. Like they toured everywhere and that's how they built their fan base.

i'm surprised by the massive amount of photos the crew and people around casablanca had of unmasked kiss and how they kept them for themselves. Magazines would have payed a fortune for those pics, but the identity was kept secret for more then a decade and that's crazy.

i counted at least 34 different people took photos between family members guitar techs ex wives friends musicians studio tecnicians casablanca emloyees and crew members and i could name them all. And there were sure more i don't know, including a full Ace wedding party guests where they played without make up and were videotaped.

The press has them too. Look at the number of people and cameras in the photo on the plane to Japan. The magazines were completely in on the charade. They could regularly run an “expose” promising pictures of them unmasked, and then have a picture with a hand in the way, or turning their head, etc.

I think that was his original Les Paul which he had converted into a double cut, and later had painted black. Not sure why he did that to such an iconic guitar, but it looks awesome regardless.

I don't think that pic is of his studio in Connecticut. I think that pic is of his house before his big mansion purchase in Wilton, CT. The pic shown I believe is in his attic...where he and Sean wrote Rocket Ride...

I always wondered about that pic too. I’ve seen others where it’s from a different perspective and I don’t think it’s actually that low of a ceiling. It’s partially the way that photo is taken. I mean, if you think about it....with the reel to reel there you’d have to either be in a wheelchair or going around on your knees in there to do anything. I’m guessing you could stand, but not much else. Being 6’1” he also probably didn’t wear the platforms in there. Probably just a publicity photo shoot.
