No band could ever match Kiss, the way the were back in the day. They had an appeal unlike any other. Everything was perfect, from top to bottom - the name, the logo, their incredible image with the make-up and costumes and the mystique surrounding the band because they didn't show themselves without make-up - to me it was like there was something almost supernatural about them with that image they had, like they were from another world, and of course the great music and epic stage shows. That whole package altogether is light years beyond any act in the history of rock IMO. I'm glad I started listening to them when they still had the make-up and was able to experience that era of Kiss.

MegaChorro123 They were, but they were absolutely huge in the late 70's. I was all part of that scene. Kiss late 70's was as big as all the hair metal bands put together from the late 80's...believe it or not, thats how popular KISS was. In the late 70's, most people in my school listened to KISS, but there were some kids that were into DISCO in that time. I am glad I got to experience the 70's...the time we are living through now is really bad. Every decade seems to get worse as time goes on.

Good point, I remember Paul Stanley/Gene Simmons wanting to play in Tupelo MS in honor of Elvis, they weren't allowed a permit to have a concert there. This was the first footage i ever saw of Kiss. I remember watching it with my dad when i was 4. In my opinion this is the best that kiss has ever sounded live. The poor quality of the sound makes them sound so much rawer and heavier. Truely a great performance.

Best opening concert song. Love Peter's drum grooves, better than any of his replacements and most rock drummers. He has great chemistry with Ace.

Michael Coffman Really? I'm 15 and LOVE KISS!

Michael Coffman Turn it up loud and sing along with it. That's how I get music like this over to young people. When they catch the vibe, groove and spirit of songs like this, they will appreciate it! lol

I saw this tour in Denver when I was in sixth grade. Parents dropped my buddy and I off in the parking lot. My mom says she must’ve been crazy doing that. Lol.

Those were the days. Paul says ace and Peter today can't keep up with him and gene talent wise. Well sometimes this is what is all that's needed. To me this is the real KISS

KISS 1976 I was age 11. First song I heard by them was Beth at a friends house with headphones. My first KISS album, "KISS", their first album. KISS was huge mid 70's. Alive Album.

Say what you may about Paul Stanley's guitar playing...but only use words such as 'fantastic', 'superb' and 'excellent' to describe his songwriting.
