They piped in the backing vocal. not a big deal, most pop artists do ALL the song lp synk! Besides least we didnt have to suffer listening to Paul pretend he still has ANY voice left, I ts a embarrassment to Kiss & the fans. Take time off, heal, then do 1 last big show. try to keep the legacy you built. To see him & fans act like he is not sucking is just sad. & i been with them since 75!!! so no "hater" BS responses!

Ever since Gene's screwup in the original broadcast of the 1996 MTV awards, KISS has either lip synched or sang with a backing track on huge televised events. I was at the MTV taping and they were supposed to cut the last 2 lines of the RARAN chorus to 2, and Gene kept singing. It was hilarious. But of course, they edited that out on KISSOLOGY. Same way they edited out the BOOING at Bruce and Eric at the 1995 Unplugged taping, which I was at also.

I don't believe it was an entire lip synced and backing track performance for this reason: At the beginning of the first chorus, Gene Simmons was singing the 'wanna rock n roll all night' section flat like he has the past few years, but then for the rest of the time, he was in the right tone the rest of the choruses. If it was a full lip sync, why would they leave in a part where Gene went flat? But then, why would they do half of the song live and the other half with backing tracks? This performance is confusing.

I was one of the biggest fans of Kiss. I was at Cobo hall in Detroit for the first live album... That was KISS! OMG I was hooked... This is like a good cover band. Is it going to be kiss after Paul goes? Or Gene? They just put someone else in? This isn't football guys. You were the hottest band in the world, you have nothing to prove. You guys look very desperate. I get that you may like to play, you would come across a hell of a lot cooler if you did a small hall. Invite only for VIP and not charge some crazy price. I can see how you would love to capture a new generation. My boys are 13 and 11 and I took them to Dodger Stadium for this show. They both laughed and said. Dad these guys are boring can we go? Gene is a great guy and always treated me well when I see him around town... Paul, what a dick! Not just once but the 20 plus times I've run into him. Even when I met him backstage in Detroit the early 80's. I live near both and Gene is a class act.... The thing is Paul, I live in the same neighborhood. I have money too. I treat people with respect and you my friend have lost mine... Get the fork out of your mouth, you look fat in that outfit... I like the wig though... lol

Paul is nothing anymore, his voice is just trash by now, Gene is mostly carried by his legacy, his character, and the fact that he doesn't sing as much as Paul does, Ace and Peter.... oh right, they're not even there, they got literally replaced by people who are in their 50s and 60s by themselves and literally are replacements, they copy their style and even their looks... and the sad thing is, at this point, those two copies are carrying Paul and Gene..... After the reunion tour they should of retired (but the unmasking itself was sumb already), and now, they're still doing it..... "The best time to seed a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now", it's already 2016, just end it. Seriously, nobody wants Kiss to go down as the guys who couldn't let go and cosplayed as themselfes for longer than actually being themselfes, their legacy is too good to let it be overshadowed by their after prime time

You are correct! The version of Detroit Rock City that they did for this event was terrible. Paul sounds like crap. He just doesn't have the voice anymore. The Farewell tour and the solo tour took it out on his voice. He was warned to slow down, and didn't listen. He admitted they tried to pack as many shows in with the original line-up as possible. Now that greed has cost them.

AceKiss89 If you're saying Paul sounded terrible as in "SOUNDED SICK!" I agree. If you're saying he was ill, you're mis-informed. Pauls voice has been gone since Sonic Boom. If you listen to Live to Win, he was losing it even then. Paul admitted in an interview that he had pushed too hard packing in too many shows and hurt his voice. Doctors warned him to slow down, he wouldn't listen. On his solo tour the Guys in his back up band said he went full force even in practice. Your vocal chords can take only so much before they give up. I have been a fan since the beginning, Paul needs to let it go.
