Won a 6'6 kistler fiberglass rod in a bass tournement 20 yrs ago at the RED River oilmans challenge here in shreveport/bossier Louisiana and it's still one of my favorite crankin rods. Haven't been able to afford more but I hope too soon!

I like my Kistlers but I don't like how you jacked the price up $50 on all your rods this year. That's crazy. Also not liking the font that's used on the rod label, or having the power number on it.

Kistler rods are great. Got the helium 7'3" MH jig, the reel and feel rod. Its amazing crank, chatterbait, and spinnerbait rod. Also just got ML Argos. Very impressive. USA made. Got Cashion rods as well. They're carbon, light and great USA made too.

I was just thinking about trying out some Kistler rods next spring. I watched a video tour of their factory. I was impressed. They roll their own blanks and all. And, their prices are very reasonable for a rod build in the USA.

Make sure that you never crank that lock but down on the rod without a reel a buddy of mine did that and tore that nice little Eva ring above the reel seat.

To battle the balancing on rods, mudhole customs sells rod balancing kits, it's a rubber butt cap that you put weights in, the weights are typically too heavy so I just stuff a couple quarters in there to balance the rod out. You can also go buy those rubber furniture leg caps and accomplish the same thing....just about all of my rods I've balanced out, makes a hell of a difference.

Debo that helium rod is freaking amazing. Own like 4 helium’s. That helium 4 power is a jig and Texas rig machine. So good for that

Can confirm the Helium 4 is a jig and texas rig monster got it paired with a Curado DC. HOWEVER.. My Z-Bone paired with my Revo MGX is absolutely unmatched in Sensitivity, power, Lightness. It is imo the best rod on the market and you get what you pay for.

Love me some Kistler rods. I have three older Heliums baitcasting rods and bought a new Argon spinning rod on sale to replace a Magnesium spinning rod that got stolen and highly recommended. Light and sensitive. I just wish they made some shorter 6'6" for narrow river/stream fishing but you can have them build custom rods for you, too.

I think you are going to enjoy those rods, I've been using their rods for a while never had an issue with them, they use northfork composites blanks which is a company that Gary Loomis started after he sold G Loomis.

I have 6 Kistler casting rods. I use that same 7’3 4 power helium for medium cranks, jigs & even weightless stickbaits. The 7’0 Argon 2 power is pure money for top water & jerkbaits. Good rods, you’ll love them once you get accustomed to their action. You have to find the right lures to throw on your rods to load the tip for great casting accuracy. Put a Shimano Bantam MGL on that 5 power and it may balance. I don’t really worry about balance points on casting gear. It applies more to me for spinning. Ymmv. Thanks Debo. Great content!

Please do a travel rod review sometime soon! I went on a fishing trip in Sept. and wished I had bought a multi-piece rod like an Okuma Nomad Xpress or Daiwa Ardito TR instead of the cheap telescopic rod I did bring that I got off Amazon.

I have a 7'3" MH Helium. Great sensitivity for finicky bites, but still super strong and very light - switch between Tatula Elite and ProTi depending on what I'm throwing. Great all purpose rod.

I love my Kistler Rods, I currently own a Helium Spinning, I think its a 2 or 3 power. I also have a 4 power Z-bone casting. I got both of these last year around xmas, best time to buy Kistler Rods, great deals!!!

I've got several Helium3s on sale and absolutely love them. Wonderfully light and sensitive, great action. You can throw moving baits or bottom contact, it really doesn't matter. I even use mine for cranking. They can be a little tip-heavy for the long rods so a heavier reels helps with that. I feel that Kistler is under-represented, and has some fantastic sleeper rods that many people don't know about. The Helium3 is one of the best rods for the money on the entire market IMO. Glad to see you picked one up, I think you'll love it.

Great pick on the Kistler Helium rod! Those are super nice I went with the MegaBass OrochiXX line instead of the Kistler. Kinda been wanting to still try the Helium rods.

Japanese rods and US rods are two different animals. Fished both. ST Croix, Kistler, Dobyns are my go to. Different feel in sensibility than japanese rods. Japanese rods seem more responsive (in the lack of a better term). I get a better feel with Japanese rods for the bite but found myslef to go almost all Kistler and Dobyns (only drop shot rod is Megabass) and St Croix in recent years. They handle fish way easier since their action looks to be more parabolic. Maybe it is just me but this is how I perceive it... Preference thing.

You keep teasing the Tatula reels. Please do a full review of the 100 and CT compared to SLX and SLX XT. You have the least biased and honest reviews. There isn't much time left to get on the water with these reels because everything is freezing over.

Kistler rods are really nice i have 3. One feel n reel 7'3app great deep crankbait, also i throw topwater spooks on braid with that rod time to time. Two helium 7' m for jerkbaits, 7'3 lmh for squarebills and chatterbaites. Only down side wish they had limited lifetime warranty like my st.croixs, g's, cajun customs, dobyns.

Darn nice lookin’ rods. Interested in what you think after using them for a while. When I got the notification of your new vid saying argon, helium and maybe unobtainium I was thinking they’d be like a lightsaber and smote them bass fish into submission. Like this series of videos. Made in the USA is a hard thing to consistently find in the fishing world. That's just my experience. I don't know all the brands for the latest and greatest and my budget says made in China, but I will and have paid more for domestic items. Its worth saving for.

Fellow Iowa boy here. I use a Favorite defender casting and APbassin Absolute favorite rod because they offer a casting rod that is a two piece. I have a limited budget and a small car. Is there a such thing as a quality two piece heavy casting rod. I love hollow body frog fishing and want to chuck a heavy rod to pull fish out of thick weeds,also heavy hooksets without the fear of breaking my rods.

When it comes to rods an lures how do you figure out the sinkers weight that you need. If it's a 3/8 lure do you use a 3/8 sinker or do you go by the rod to see what sinker OZ size to use?

I own 3 different med heavies all of the are different Berkeley shock = jig rod Lews IM7 = Texas rig smaller jigs crank baits Abu Garcia 24ton graphite stiffer than the lews intermediate good for swim baits up to 1oz

All Kistler rods are handmade at our factory in Magnolia TX; is true if you use the term loosely; the components like the rod blanks come from CHINA. About the only things truly made in the U.S.A. are Babies, Beer and wood Baseball bats.
