Looks like a nice set of figures I’ve been eyeing this kit for a while and I might just pick it up!

cheers! Its useful for many diorama scenes, so why not? i picked it up for something i want to build of the Normandy battles, but maybe i do something set in Italy instead. So many possibilites :)

What a very interesting kit with some great options for the equipment and the ethnic groups in the British Army. Nice review Michael

This is one place I would love to visit. Such bravery and loss on both sides. A truly historic battle that has become the stuff of legend

You would love it :) the town of cassino is really shabby, but the gem is up on the mountain above it! free entry by the way. i visited the place a while ago, but had not the time to make detailed research on the surrounding battlefield. i shall return there and do some hiking.

Nice figure set. As one who's starting to pay more attention to figures in my models, a set like this with the different ethnicity of the soldiers can really help set a scene apart from the rest with that little extra bit of detail
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling6 жыл бұрын
thats great to hear danny, give it a try :) figures don´t have to be perfect in order to add a lot to a tank model or a small diorama.

The Kiwis and the Polish also played a major role in the capture after the pullback by the fallschirmjager to new lines.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling6 жыл бұрын
true to some extend, but only after the gustav line was broken heavily by British and Free French Korps further down south. the continuous attacks of the Polish forces worsened the situation, but were not decisive. The monastary was in the end taken after it had been evacuated.

@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling6 жыл бұрын
@non-prolific135thscalemode76 жыл бұрын

I have that set somewhere in the stash. Not bad but need some work in some areas, new heads ect. Although the Sikh heads look pretty good.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling6 жыл бұрын
thats the cool thing about figures, there is always room for improvements, which are not too expensive.
@granskare6 жыл бұрын
the gurkas are known for their fierce fighting skills (from Nepal) & they have sharp knives - don't want to be on the wrong side of those guys.
@HamilkarBarkasScaleModelling6 жыл бұрын
that is true indeed, they are a warrior culture and die happily if they have to. one does better run away when they are in the opposition.

... Grüße Make*

The Australians saw action in Europe, in Greece in 1941 for example. After the defeat of the Italians in North Africa a lot of units redeployed to Greece. I have actually a photo taken by my granduncle during that time, which shows a grave two Australian soldiers in Greece.
