Probably for the best, since the generic possessed are supposed to be Black Legion already and the Word Bearers have the Gal Vorbak from 30k. Beyond that the Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion, and Night Lords aren’t known for their vast hordes of possessed marines seeing as how the Iron Warriors only work with chaos begrudgingly, the Night Lords hate chaos, and the Alpha Legion... well we don’t know.

I did consider this but I didn't have any spare Plague Marine packs. I had the MK3 ones but they just didn't look quite the same as the Death Guard ones. Maybe for the next lot that I do!

Could also modify the MK3 backpacks with spare tanks, old pieces of exhausts, even any extra heads or limbs from your bitz box. I can imagine a possessed whose powerpack exhausts (the knobby things on the side; I have no idea what they're called) mutated into 2 more 'living' plaguebearer heads, or a pair of arms reaching over the plague marines shoulder with dirty, gore encrusted claws.

This is a good starting point. I wanted to add some possessed to my Death Guard and was going to use the Plaguebearer belly as a starting point with scraps of armour. The old large chaos backpack from early and mid 90s for that thick industrial look. These are amazing, those sickly skin folds were great.

yessss nurgle conversion videos are my lifeblood great work on this one! i love the spider legs and the skin folds. i'll definitely look into the spider kit you mentioned here, because i love spiders and would totally love to make some for myself. i also really love the color scheme.

Have you thought about doing chaos spawn? I did two Khorne styled Spawn for my World Eaters army adding helmets, weapons and other Worldeater bits. They looked awesome just like your possessed and it was an extremely fun conversion.

This really solved a big issue for me. I hate the possessed models for DG. I have a PBK box and was going to use it to make terminator but it was entirely too much effort for me. The only thing I would do myself is swap all of the fantasy boots out and add backpack as some others have already said. I would very much like to see Deathguard Nurgle Chaos spawn from you. Too many folks really go out of their way to gross out the army but I appreciate you staying with the range.

Hey Pete, how about a Soul Drinkers kitbash? Quite a big history and books based around them. Many mutated slightly after a corruption from a higher being they viewed somewhat as the Emperor. Chapter Master Sarpedon grew spider legs. One grew many eyes. Another grew a strong mutant arm. Another grew almost scythe like swords for arms. These are some of the mutations if I remember rightly. There were many more. Despite this they stood loyal to the Emperor, killing traitors on the way. Might be something interesting for you and a nice creative freedom

I think that you should still paint up that first one you showed with the bug head, as it looks great. My own possessed are going to be a mixture of converted blightkings and plague marine models mixed with parts from the possessed kit.

Played a fun game yesterday, it was a 2 v 1, 1000pts death gaurd and 1000pts 1000 sons vs 2000pts new tau. 1000 sons teleported in and tied them up while term est moved up, took objectives, and killed everything in their path. Poxwalkers killed a unit of crisis suits and fire warriors, plague marines and blightlords killed the rest of the of the troops, and daemon prince and tallyman took down a riptide (tallyman delivered the fatal blow with his plasma pistol lol.) Only lost the poxwalkers, it was a redeeming game for me. So basically term est is great and I intend to run it more frequently and can't wait to pack possessed into the list. Rotwind from the plague caster, rotten constitution, and supporating plate made daemon prince into a brick wall and him using accelerated entropy was brutal. I was saving his -4ap shots on 2 :) highly recommended that combo.

Before I give a critique, I want to say I do love the conversion and think it looks great. Gonna be honest, with the one power armor leg, one pauldron and bracer, and power armor helmet, he looks more silly than he does intimidating to me. If you'd made thr same changes to each side it would look more 'natural', but as it is the power armor pieces look out of place on the model and it really still looks like a fantasy model.

It's a fair point, although the one thing that was preventing me from adding more armour was time and cost. The more mk3 I needed the more the squads total price would be. I did add more armour variations to some of the other squad members however

A suggestion: Primaris Cypher. I would use the multi-part Bladeguard coming out combined with the official Cypher kit. Two pistols, Lion Sword, fancy cloak, the works.

How would you convert up Mutilators? Their models are sooooo old and hideous, the new start collecting chaos space marines brought the obliterators up to date, but mutilators have been left behind. They are cheap deepstriking bruisers with a small footprint so great for just dropping onto an unguarded objective, or if you are night lords, landing in a ruin and charging someone with from the shadows.

My problem (Not really a "problem") is that the Death Guard models are so unique I feel its a same to convert the plague marines at all. Between Dark Imperium, the Plague Marine Box Set, The heroes series and the Easy Paint kit you easily have two full squads of unique models. What might be a fun challenge is to Convert a marine to Death Guard without using anything from the Death Guard kits.

I always have putty and Greenstuff sticking to my tools even when wet with water, it's minor but annoying. I've heard of people using Oil, mind you I'm not sure what kind to keep tools and putty lubricated, have you heard of this? Thanks either way.
