A deep dive into the Oathmark Human plastic sprues, a look at building historical medieval units, proxy Warhammer The Old World Bretonnians and Rangers of the North from Middle Earth. Included in the video are some kitbashing and conversion ideas and lots of scale comparisons with FireForge Deus Vult models, GW Lord of the Rings minis and Old World Brettonians.

I remember back in 1987-88 when Warhammer was just starting there were very few figures from GW to make your armies. I was in the RAF serving in Cyprus, we had a war gamming club out there. When I once came back on leave a mate who was starting a Bretonnian army got me to buy a load knights and foot soldiers from Essex Miniatures to serve as his army.

Another great inspiration and ideas thank you. Take a look at the Gripping Beast Dark Age Irish and even the Picts as both offer kitbashing opportunities for for pilgrim type miniatures. It's very nice being able to see all the various minis compared to the men ar arms kit, been thinking of using the oathmark infantry to make yeoman guard for my bretonnians, it's a matter of sourcing halberds, I know fireforge has a blister with 24
@PaulStanleyauthor
@PaulStanleyauthor 2 күн бұрын
@@TheSupporter76 that’s a cool idea. I’ve been thinking about extra halberds myself and I’ve kept hold of the spare ones I have from my Bretonnian men at arms. I’ve worked out that I get 7 halberds left over from every unit of 18 men at arms I build so I should have about 28 to play with once all my GW Bretonnians are built. I know North Star do packs of spears but I’m not sure about halberds.

Paul, you actually set me to sorting through piles of boxes in my war game room today (it's a public holiday here in Australia). Turns out I own 394 unassembled 800-1000 CE era figures, amongst thousands of others. I've been re-watching the series 'Vikings' again and now I have both Vikings as well as their 'English' opponents a-plenty to do things with. Thanks again for your video efforts.
