Great and detailed video Daru. I noticed all the masking, hopefully your legions of fans who will now re-tile their backsplashes will as well. You said we could leave tips. Here’s a safety one. When I cut tiles I always file the finish edge at 45 degrees to break the razor sharp edge. Nothing sucks like bleeding into the grout. Thanks for the amazing video!

Can you tile on painted walls? Or should you remove the semi gloss paint?
@DaruDhillon6 ай бұрын
@@SulianaCruz these walls were tiled on primed drywall but I tile over painted walls too. You can go over paint as long as it’s in good shape. You can check the instructions on the tile adhesive to be safe. Good question. Thanks!

How does the salt and pepper fix grout mistakes ?
@DaruDhillon9 ай бұрын
It’s was in the bag. Have you tried it? Works like a charm!
@davidalau9 ай бұрын
Daru only needs a salt shaker, my mistakes require a toaster to hide behind. Sometimes a microwave.

great video. You make it look so easy and everyone should try to do this, its a semi simple job and as i always told my son, the worst thing that could happen is you have to rip it down and do it again. You might be out a few bucks but its learning. Love the explanation about the outlet extenders. i bought them for my own kitchen but still havent done the backsplash lol.. waiting for the wife to scream at me then ill do it.

Such a good point, we all have to learn and start somewhere. I like that you are encouraging your son to do the same. Know what you mean about those outlet extenders and projects to do. Good to hear from you :)
