Great job Jess!! That's my son's favorite pasta dish too!! Again Val, you have the patience of a Saint! I don't understand why Jess doesn't seem to have any self assurance. You and your family seem to have always instilled competence in everything she does and she still doubts herself. Ohhh how I pray she will develop some level of confidence at some point. She needs to be reassured how much she is loved and how happy she is, constantly. Had she always needed that or did that work program you spoke of cause her to doubt herself that much. God Bless her, that had to be so traumatic on all of you! Breaks my heart thinking about that!! Actually pisses me off if the truth be known!!

Jess got tickled about the butter!!! I would have probably done the same thing, since I'm not hip on touching the butter either. In fact, since I've grown out my fingernails...and I've only had long nails for about three years, I wear alot of disposable gloves. I don't like the idea of anything getting under my nails, especially raw meat. My dog patiently waits behind me in the kitchen at times, and sometimes he scares me when I turn around and he's sitting so sweet, waiting for his bite of something to eat.

Hi Val, I've seen you mention 'negative expressive communication' a few times and I just wondered is it as simple as J saying "we haven't got any butter" like is it always assuming a negative?
