You are so so fortunate . If that kitchen causes you to feel upset you need to reexamine priorities. Megan I really enjoy watching your videos. As you get older you care less about what others think as you grow more into your self . It is great to enjoy making your home a haven but always remember that your videos reach people from all walks of life . What is dingy and dated to one is someone else’s dream.

That goes for anyone ;) She was being honest about how alot of people feel :) Megan does have a nice kitchen, but I can even see that it's not new and up to date :) mine isn't either, but like Megan I've learned to make do anyway :) Everyone catches themselves getting caught wishing for a updated space, or newer vehicle, or bigger yard etc... especially if they've been waiting for a few years for it :) ... we're all humans and humans have feelings... what's important is that we catch ourselves like Megan demonstrated... I know older women that struggle with alot worse than what Megan has mentioned :) she wasn't upset and as you saw, she caught herself and did reexamine quite well:-)

Megan, thanks for your honesty!! Keep in mind that you and Josh chose to spend/save your money differently than many youtubers appear to do. You express often how important it is to y'all to save money, send your children to your preferred school and to have your investment property, all very smart choices, imo. Doing updates/upgrades on your home one at a time is so much more realistic than just buying a bigger grander home as seen so often here on youtube. Your home is beautiful and so glad you felt better about it after showing it some love in simple ways. Have a blessed day. 😊

Your house is beautiful - you and Josh have done a great job of renovation! My husband and I are DIYers too and have been since we got married 49 years ago! I've been showing my husband your living room wall with the geometric design - we love it! We built a solar home in our late twenties and we could have written a book of how NOT to build your own home!! We made mistakes and we did some things right! -- We still enjoy doing DIY projects together. Keep it up, you two! Continue to keep your eyes on the LORD; to be grateful in our hearts what He is doing in our lives! He is a good, loving Father. God bless you and yours!

Calendar option: print out an undated version of the basic white & then have it laminated. You can add the dates with dry erase colors of your choice! You can use the washi tape or hang it with the canvas hanger you mentioned. Makes it more durable & cost effective, a little more decorative & you can swap it out with the paint chip calendar-which I love!‐as you like. You could even use it at Thanksgiving & Christmas using dry erase colors for those holidays & even add some little holiday drawings-then wipe off & change out as you like! Just a thought! God bless!!!

I got over it and began to clean/organize what i already have and it inspired new love.

Megan, your kitchen may not be perfect in your eyes, but I think it is amazing!! I love the color schemes, the size, the cabinet space, everything! You certainly are blessed to have the home that you do, and I know you already know that. 😊 To put it into context, I am currently going back and watching all of your old videos and I just recently watched your empty home tour when you first moved in here, and the cabinets and trim were all brown and very dated! Compared to that, your kitchen is stunning now!! Also Evonnie is almost 2 and Fletcher is 5 months (Miller wasn’t even a thought yet) in the videos I’ve been watching! It’s so neat to be able to go back in time and watch your family and your channel grow!! ❤

Always love your videos! I'm actually in the process of renovating my 1971 kitchen. I decided to keep the brown cabinets and gel stain them to make them look new again. My new countertops are white quarts and I love the modern, boho look of my kitchen now. Since your cabinet are flat you could add 2" strips of wood to the front to make them look like new shaker cabinets. There are lots of videos on how to diy kitchen cabinets to look like new shaker cabinets. Also, since your back splash tile is square you could buy square tile stickers to change the look. Just a couple things I've found while trying to get ideas to fix up my kitchen. Best of luck and keep your awesome videos coming!

I appreciate your honesty! Sometimes we need a perspective shift when we are feeling less-than; something that happens to us all no matter how fancy or not fancy our kitchen is! I’d gladly trade you my dark granite counters for your light ones!!! I do love how open and airy your kitchen and eating space is. As far as the bottom of your coffee cart, I think turning the basket length-wise and situating it at an angle might zhuzh things up a bit. Also, adding a third item would be good as odd numbers are often relied upon in decorating and landscaping! You could also put pretty seltzer bottles, French lemonade bottles with syrups or such in the area intended for wine bottles!

Great video Megan. Social media has created all of us to get caught up in the comparison trap. My home was built in 1979 and still has the original darker walnut cabinets. I don't even have pulls on my cabinets or drawers. I have changed out the backsplash and counter top a couple times over the 37 years we have lived in our home. But I do love it and appreciate having a kitchen!! Cleaning, organizing, freshening things up really do help liven things up in the kitchen. I actually want to buy a couple sets of Corelle dishes because the dishes I have now are so so heavy!! They are Pfalzgraff brand and they tend to chip and crack. I love how your tray turned out. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas on ways to create a lovelier space.!!

You do a beautiful job making your house into a home. I too had a large wall calendar like you do (a simple one from Staples) When my 3 kids were in different schools because of age ranges, I was totally stressed trying to keep everyone's schedule straight. So I bought Sharpies in 6 colors, one for each family member and one for whole family activities. Field trips, birthday parties, doctor appointments, first day of school, it all went on there in the different colors. We could tell at a glance who needed to be where, when. No more scrambling for permission slips, birthday presents etc at the last minute. It lived on the side of the fridge. Sanity reigned.

What you said about seeing other moms on here with bright air kitchens, I get that, it is enticing but it's good to be mindful of the comparison and envy. Social media is a tricky place. God is good. Life is good.

Your kitchen is actually pretty. I get that you don’t like the countertop but it’s such high quality! One thing you could do to like the kitchen even more (it’s a lot of work though) is to paint the inside od the cabinets☺️

For the extra glass tuperwares without lids, donate them as someone else might have dropped and cracked the bottom but still have the lid and might be delighted to find them! This happened to me before and I was so grateful.

Your kitchen is beautiful. I love the small changes. They added really nice pops of color.

The peel and stick wallpaper would add a fun touch and pop of color to an accent wall in your kitchen or dining room space (although I say this and then you say you don't want anything too colorful or eye catching in your kitchen). But it is seriously way too pretty to just be put into the bottom of a tray that you then fill with trinkets. I do agree that it would also be cute as an accent wall in Evonnie's room (maybe behind the head of her bed).

I love your kitchen! So realistic and you guys updated it on your own and didn’t spend crazy amounts of money on it! I love your channel because you’re so REAL!!! I also find learning about being a Mennonite so interesting and I’ve started wear more dresses. ❤ I’m from the Wilkes-barre/Scranton Area but live in North Carolina now! PA people rock! 😀

Well shoot me down but i understand what you mean about your kitchen, just because others think its this or that, its how you feel about it that matters, yes your grateful you have it and all of the other things, but lets just take a moment and reflect on the fact you have worked hard to get everything you & josh have! Your entitled to not be keen on a part of your home or whatever it may be. Cant wait to see your new porch/garden deck area eeeek so exciting. Have a great day.

I just did the same thing about 2-3 weeks ago. But I moved out pretty much everything we don't use daily just so I don't need to clean it and keep it up this summer. I would much rather spend time outside in my garden or hanging out with friends then cleaning and taking care of so much stuff inside. I love your kitchen! And always look forward Thursday at 2:30. We appreciate you making videos for all of us. Your always so inspiring🙂

I think your kitchen is so cute! You shouldn’t feel bad about it at all! I love what you’ve done to it so far. Have you ever thought about painting your backsplash? I have a similar tile backsplash and I painted it a glossy white and how my kitchen looks much more fresh and modern!
