For those of us who love it, home decor is such an expression of our selves. It is a way show our creativity. Each piece was chosen and special. I sometimes feel like it seems superficial but I get so much joy from looking around my house. I don’t care about designer brands or labels but I cherish a hand-crafted bowl or a vintage/antique treasure that I have found. These give character and soul ❤

I think your kitchen is fantastic, and it really does have a lot of counter space when you include the island! If you had the fourth barstool and stored it just for when you have guests, you could put it at the end. No, it wouldn’t be roomy and the most comfortable, but four people could sit at the island. I can’t wait to see your art around the kitchen. One piece would be beautiful above the toaster. I’m so glad that you’re back in a place of your own, because I can see just how happy you both are!! ❤

Gosh Brandy I could never even imagine not having my own space! After every vacation I can not wait to get home to my own living room furniture which is always more comfy & my bed! 😊 Not to mention the freedom to do what I want when I want to.

Just a friendly suggestion. We keep our garbage can in the cupboard under the sink and I have a paper towel holder that sticks under the kitchen cabinets. It really frees up space😊oh also I have 4 bar stools but I put one in the basement for when I have company, maybe you could put one away in storage and pull it out when you need it.

Also, Brandy, where your trash can is, it's a pretty big space! Could you find a cute either tall cabinet that the trash can go in the bottom and then the top can be used for more storage or even a pantry? Or even a long buffet style cabinet to put your trash in so you can't see the trash, and then the rest can be storage for the kitchen? Or even an antique hutch! Love your space!!

They're not just things, they hold value to your heart. 9/19/24 my family and I were in a fire and lost everything but our lives to the fire thank GOD! I would recommend lining the drawers and cabinets with shelving paper. Makes it so much easier when moving and cleaning a rental plus it looks nice too!!

Nice it’s coming along. You can pick different size and shapes wicker baskets on the tops of your kitchen cabinets for extra storage like pots and pans, bowls, party supplies. Etc.

I grew up moving my Dad was in the service and my Mom would do the kitchen and bathroom first.My Dad would put the beds together.She always said the rest will fall into place.As I got older and moved on my own I did the samething.It is fun getting to decorate a new space.Your Apt.is lovely.

How fun! I would use that space by the front door for a pantry. I would look for a really tall vintage cabinet. The foil type products would need to go in a drawer for me. When you unpack, you gotta throw the paper on the floor! Haha!

Do you have room to get a cabinet that you can put against the wall in the kitchen to use as a pantry? Any room to hang an open shelf to put your plates, glassware & decor on like your last place to free up space in the cabinets plus show some of your pretty items? I am so happy for you both! Maybe you could add an additional shelf to get more use of the cabinet. This would not be a structural change to the apartment. Just an idea. I'm so happy for you. Enjoy.

We packed a couple of suitcases with the main things we would need. Like if you're traveling, a couple of outfits pair of pjs, sheet set for the bed, towel and washcloth plus coffee maker, couple of mugs and coffee, cleaning wipes. Just to have something you can easily find. But yes kitchen bed and bathroom are the priority

Moving is exciting and overwhelming… I moved 2 weeks ago, and placed my kitchen items where I “think” I want them. Wanted items out of boxes to start living, knowing I can change it down the road as I get used to a different space. You did a lot and it looks great!

My first thought was, small wreaths hanging from red ribbon on the upper white cabinets😁 The enter/exit door on our right, what about a very small depth white cabinet hanging it to sore spices, or hooks to hang aprons and soften that area? Oh, and cabinets under the stools. What about that area for your pantry and overstock? It would free up the valuable cabinets? It is such a blank canvas to create a home.😁😁😁

Sorry, just finished the video and had a couple more suggestions. Do you have room on the big wall to the left (looking forward into your kitchen) for an old vintage cupboard or similar that you could turn into a pantry? That would free up your cupboards a bit. Can't wait to see how you decorate, you have a ton of options above the cupboards for some crocks, old cutting boards etc. By your front entry, you need a "mini bar" cart.

I LOVE what yall did but ya know it’s your stuff makes the kitchen! You know that you can get a pantry cabinet from IKEA just a very tall slim one your trash can fit at the bottom and then you have all the other shelves for your pantry supplies. I seen another KZbinr that moved into her apartment and she needed a pantry. I think she had even gotten hers from the ready-made one or the return section

Why not just buy 2 nice black counter stools for each end, instead of of the large chairs👍🏻🌻also, I bought slider mechanism for under sink cabinets for the trash can, it slides out. And then no trash can taking up space.

Brandy and Zach, the kitchen is coming along. You'll move things around but you have a good layout. With another open space kitchen. you want to keep it as minimalistic as possible. You can maximize your cabinets with some shelf extenders that slide onto the shelf and give you more storage. I have a couple of suggestions: move your oils. The heat from the microwave will spoil your oils. The paper towels can be mounted using an under cabinet holder with command strips, either under the island or within that cabinet where your foil is. This removes the eye sore. Just a thought. I'm guessing that nook where the entry table is will be your coffee bar. Adding the mirror is a great camouflage to the door and great use for your OOTD.
