I'm gonna miss this kitchen of yours. This is not like others peoples kitchen, where they have "dirty kitchen" and a separate "show kitchen". Your kitchen is beautiful yet functional.. I really love it.

Totally agree upper cabinets are a pain. When we fixed up our kitchen we decided not to put anything on the walls, it's been a blessing and everything stays tidy and nothing gets lost and out of date as we have all our dry goods on one bookcase, and the rest fridge and freezer goods. I also keep spices in a drawer near the cooker and my potatoes live in a bottom drawer with pan lids. My kitchen still isn't completely decorated, it's definitely still a work in progress but the functionality is brilliant

What a beautifully organized kitchen. The most amazing thing to me is that your husband and children help maintain it. I can organize my kitchen and every cabinet, even putting up labels and within a week no one else will put things back where they belong. Kudos to you for being able to get them to do that.

The Asian tool is actually a skimmer. It's used for collecting foam from beef broth or such. I also use it when I strain my home made ghee. Very nice idea to flip the glass jars upside down. I was just going to buy new stickers as the chalk pen can't wash off my stickers unfortunately

Thank you so much for taking the time to walk us through the nooks and crannies of your kitchen. I am a recovering hoarder on a journey towards minimalism, and videos like these are VERY helpful for casting vision and demonstrating what I actually need in a functional kitchen, not what I THINK I MIGHT need but really ought to toss. Thanks!! 😊

I just found your channel today and this has to be one of the best videos showing a kitchen and how you store everything. Wow... I just had a brand new kitchen made in my home also with all drawers for the bottom cabinets. I have not figured out yet where everything goes in my new kitchen and you have given me some new ideas with your video. I love how you use jars. I have never seen those kind of jars that you are using for your spices, but I surely think they are ideal for the shallow drawers and I will be trying to find some of those for myself. Even though I gave away 30% of what I had in my former kitchen, I think I could let go of even more now... I have too many sets of dinnerware for sure. I love the clear plates you have for everyday use.

You have such a different life style than most Americans with your emphasis on only natural fresh ingredients! I don't even know half of what those grains are! No wonder your garbage is so litte; you don't use prepackaged things! The amount of time you must spend preparing and cooking each day! (I remember the video of you making almond milk!) Still, it enables you to have zero body fat as I realized when we hugged at the Scan Fair! You house is always so fun to see how simple, minimal and modern it is. You have inspired me ! Love Dana

Your kitchen is so organized and beautiful! I just love your cozy home and how you spend so much time with your boys. I too have two boys, and I also homeschool. =) I have old cupboards from the 1950s. They are not near as fancy, but they are solid wood and painted white so my husband and I decided they are good enough and we didn't want to spend the money on a total kitchen renovation.

Real wood is the best and I find it very practical how they created things in the 1950-s they considered the function. I bet your kitchen is beautiful and cozy! Probably you guys like us we spend the majority of the time there 😊💕

@@ScandishHome thank you, it's not new, but it's cozy. And yes, we sure do spend the majority of the time in the kitchen for family meals and cooking everything from scratch. =) Too bad we don't live closer, I Googled Oregon one time and we're about 18 hours away.

T.J. some of the best kitchen units are handmade well solid wood, for some of the units that you buy can chip or scratch over time, my friends kitchen was hand made and it was really beautiful, also i moved into a house that i bought and partly purchased it on the strengh of the kitchen wich was made out of pine, it's a good idea to paint solid wood, thats what i would do, very durable ,depending on the type of wood, should last a lifetime!!
