How can you fix hinges? My brat fell on the door while it was open and bent the hinges, I have to wiggle it a certain way now to get it to work. I would like to take the hinges off and bent it back if possible, if not, replace it. Model # 66513933K010 Kenmore Elite by Whirlpool- thanks in advance !

I have a KUDK03FTSS0 and these instructions weren’t very helpful for pulling the unit out. I’ve replaced dishwashers before and not only was the one I worked on not screwed into the cabinet once the legs were off the ground it did not slide easily. I was afraid I’d rip the door right out which actually seemed to happen when I pulled on it. Some others might need more detail here because clearly there’s more than one way to pull this thing out/secure it. I could not find any other screws but some tabs on top appear to be holding it in place but without visible screws.

Why does KitchenAid make such a critical, much used tensioner out of cheap nylon instead of metal? Just asking for repeated failure. Mine broke twice.

I totally agree. On mine the rope separated from the plastic part. My replacement just like the OEM part is shorter so that will put more load on the rope and plastic fitting to fail again. Next time I’m making my own parts using thin stainless steel cable with compression fittings. Of course the plastic pulleys will now fail.
