thanks for making this video. will try it out to patch an element that has come apart.

Did it work? I am interested because my repair held up for 6 months and needs to be done again. I think it has something to do with the gauge of the nichrome wire I used in the patch. There are many sizes.

Thank you for the video. We have a KitchenAid toaster that is tripping the GFCI any thoughts?

At least you didn't make toast of it.

Nobody ever shows taking it appart which seems to be very difficult.

I made a separate video of how to take the knob off of this puppy. It was a learning experience. Usually we just have to pull really really hard and hope nothing breaks. Not with this one.

Is the toaster still holding up? I have a toaster that needs this exact fix and if a little nichrome wire and borax is all I need great!

I have made about 20 batches of toast. The patch glows a little brighter than the rest but it does not scorch the bread and appears to be working just fine. I am amazed, to be honest.

Yes looks like the patch is lower resistance so the rest is heating up less. Interesting though , how food safe is borax flux?
@twincitiesfixit Жыл бұрын
@@paulmeynell8866 The borax turns to powder and can be blown out of the toaster. For the record, borax is less toxic than table salt. While you aren't supposed to eat it, small ingested qty would pass in urine, not attach to digestive system as in insects.
