Very cool, its such a fun spot. This was back in may, but next time I'm out there I'm hoping to go explore huguenot park.

@@erbartlett Very beautiful island specially the water is like you foil in a swimming pool :). Sadly there was not much wind (wrong time end of septembre is better) But there are many many spots nearly every beach you can foil there. (often alone) I will post next weeks some spot guides there o/

Looks like conditions I would have ditched the foil for the surfboard in personally. Also you mixed in shots of a TT rider (also on a Core kite) from a drone with you foiling holding the gopro but I guess that was a different rider if you stuck to the foil the whole trip. Too bad about your cut, I had a similar thing happen to me on my last trip (strained achilles) and only got 2/10 days!

Yeah, so this is typically a very light wind spot in the summer, so I brought a 12m and a 9m and my foil. The wind on these days ended up being way higher than normal, and I could have technically ridden the Nobile split foil board as a surfboard, but I really find it a pain to ride in waves. There was a guy out there riding twin tip while I was foiling, but he was also about 60lbs lighter than me when wet. In a perfect world, i would have had my 3 strut 12m and a surf board, and that would have been more fun, but I couldn't lug all that with me in the airplane :)

A 12 and 9 is what I usually take on trips to the caribbean. I have the Nobile NHP, the foil/twin tip board, for traveling with. You said you usually fly your 12 up to about 20mph wind? Can I ask what weight are you? I'm 215. I also have trouble getting through the breaks with the foil, something I need to work on.

I’m 215lb too, I’d probably switch to the 9m around 18mph in a perfect world, but I’ve stuck out sessions that gusted up into the low 20s on the 12, it’s definitely not fun or ideal :) How’s the foil twin tip board, would love to try that out, this one’s good but it’s more of a light wind directional than a true surfboard. Getting through the break was really about patience, timing the waves, and getting a good board position while body dragging. I definitely abandoned my board a few times playing it safe

@@erbartlett I like the board, it gives me more options at a lighter weight. I used to carry KitElement split board and an inflatable foil board, but the NHP lightened the load a bit. If the wind gets over 25 or so, unless it's a protected area I'd rather twin tip, much more control. I've been switching to my 9 around 15mph, but I'll struggle getting back up if the wind drops a bit and I'm in the drink. I also prefer to be overpowered a bit at this stage. Thanks for posting.

Is this board not flexing too much when in the waves ? I definitely have to push the foil back in the rails in order to really match the swell. I also try to avoid dead on-shore conditions makes it hard to pass by the shore break. And also you sometimes have to rush downwind to avoid the whitewash so I prefer smaller sizes like 9m below 20kt and 7/6m in 20+. Makes looping less scary and exploit the low end of the foil for some surf 😊

Ended up taking me out of the water for like 3 weeks plus... had to do a round of antibiotics... it sucked, then i went into getting some skin cancer spots removed, which put me out another month :(
