Great video ! Question about the bridle setting on the leading edge on the Cab FX. On the 2018 model, the knot closest to the wing tip was the freeride setting. since 2019 and also 2020 that has been reversed. The closest knot to the wingtip is the Freestyle setting now. As you say in the guide. Can you explain how this is possible ?

Great video and content, Rygo! Thanks for posting. Would love to see you do a video on use of the trim/depower strap and maybe tuning your bars. Always enjoy your videos. Keep em coming.

@Ryan Goloversic I'd had bar need tuning after just 6 months of riding. It doesn't need to be that old. That said, each bar could be slightly different in how you can tune it. But in the end usually what happens is the middle lines stretch and you need to lengthen the outer lines (usually adjustable on the bar end of the lines) or shorten the center line pigtail somehow (with a knot?). Until you balance your bar, you can pull some depower to compensate and if it's more than a few cm then use the "less power" connection on the kite. I never used the "less power" or "more power" connection except for compensating for a bar with stretched center lines. The "more power" will likely make your kite stall instead of giving you that extra power, and the "less power" is like pulling in more depower so you can't fully power your kite, and while your "full depower" is even less power, I find that "full depower" on the standard connection is already too much and makes the kite behave strangely, so I wouldn't want to pull any more than that...

i tend to use the longues knot when the kite is light to avoid backstall. Most of times beginner tend to pull to much on the bar in lightwind condition leading to backstall

Great video. Question about Slingshot turbine. This kite have 3 knots on the pigtails for the centerlines. With knot should I choose ?
@955none4 жыл бұрын
@Ryan Goloversic i think slingshot usually recommend to use the middle not in the front line and the longest one for the back lines the knots are usefull to trim the kite a certain way. Shortening the front line will essentially reduce the angle of attack. lengthening the front line increases the aoa, and therefore add power, but it can also cause backstall, if the aoa is so high that the airflow detaches from the kite www.dw.com/image/47856017_7.png this is from an aircraft but the same principal applies

I kinda like your style but I don't get why you'd teach a rhyme to newbies for where to tie there lines. Make them understand the angle of attack of the wing (kite) and that wind speed over the kite creates the lift or force. This is the basis for 90% of what kiteboarding is about. Those people won't be mistaken because of a rhyme ... was it front or back lines or ... ??? It is so easy to figure it out if you understand the concepts of how a kite works. A good basis will make students learn faster and be more confident and make fewer mistakes.
