In such cases, you need to pull one of the central lines with your hands. The kite will lose power and the effect will be like a safety system.

It’s a high Y, so you can’t reach a single center line directly from the bar. You’d have to pull both towards you quite a bit to eventually be able to grab one

Yea it was tricky in freezing conditions with gloves on … nothing worked

Once he reached the bar, he could have pulled/walked on one of the two centerline, that should have mimicked the 1 line safety system. No? Or when winding the lines around the bar, doing with one of the two centerlines rather than with all 4... Btw no experience with such a bar, just thinking loud✌️for sure the cold and strong wind made everything more difficult. Good he made it in the end

It’s a core bar it doesn’t flag out. This is a very unsafe bar as it does’t release all the power in to one line but still remains in 2 lines. Worse even has it makes an offset in the lines making it turn. Glad you made it without more problems

That's ony true because he's using a non Core kite, possibly a kite designed for a low V bar. Core kites with Core bars flag out just fine. I've had to eject many times in insane sudden gusts with no issues. Don't mix low V kites with high V bars.

I had a similar issue with a 10M Orbit and a Core bar. The high Y makes the North fly very nervous as well. Core bars only work with Core kites. Never had a problem with the bar on a Core kite. Use a low Y bar on a Core kite and it flys like a pig.

Use a rope to attach the bar to, do not attach straight to the bag, so you can be standing and doing whatever you need to do while the bar is still attached, and if something like this happens the kite is still safe and you are safe.

Seriously I don’t understand it because ur using a core bar on a North kite… it might work on the attachment but I think every brand has their own unique measurements on their linesystem and the new core bar only flags out haft and not like the 1st or 2nd full. I always tell people not to mix two brands (kite/bar). There will be something that will affect something. For example… a friend of mine had been using a core bar on a LF kite until he found out that, that combination affects the depowersystem.

I realized last year that my 10 year old Cabrinha bars flagged out on two lines rather than one. I haven’t had to punch out, but if I do, I want it to work. It was new bar time. Bonus: With the new bar it’s much easier to reset the chicken loop.

Both centerlines remained with the same length, kite stayed in C position and could still fly. Only one lines has to remain under tension for the kite to fully open/flag out (wing span horizontal to the ground), then it has "no power"

couldn't you have just removed your gloves so you could grip the centre lines and hand over hand your way to the kite. Thats how I self land in strong wind. great job at avoiding the fence though

The core safety system seems more to be the problem. Core don't use the standard way, so it seems not working nicely with other kites.

I had same shit with XR7. It's badly designed safety system.

when you rolled the ropes, you only made about 3 spins on the "long line", and then rolled up all 4 simultaneously, to me it looked like all 4 lines were approximately the same length, fully powering up your kite. You should first roll up the "long line" at least several meters, only then spin all 4 lines, ensuring that the kite is much looser on one side. Also, it's very strange the kite would backstall at this strong wind, especially seing that your bar was fully out (depowered). I'm sure your back lines are way too short... with this wind, and a correct tune bar, your kite should fly straight up to 12, not fall.

NEVER use core bars on other brands kite, that’s a suicide. Used on my duotone evo for a while. Is not about high or low V, it’s core system that sucks.

It’s not the system that sucks, it’s just not meant for other kite designs. It will work for other small kite sizes where not much flag out line is needed. It’s users fault not to check for compatibility

Sometimes its good too pull on one steering line to flag kite out can be hard but u had gloves just keep pulling only 1 steering line until u get to kite leave everything else behind!

if you pull a steering line the kite most likely loops! that's why safety steering line was abandoned and safety power line is now standard.
