This geometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into kites. It explains how to calculate the area of a kite using the length of its two diagonals and how to determine the perimeter of a kite using the pythagorean theorem to calculate the missing sides. A kite has two disjoint pairs of congruent sides. One diagonal is the perpendicular bisector of the other diagonal and it bisects the angles of the vertex into two congruent angles.
