I am a young man (22) who has been all about flying since I was old enough to hear an airplane fly over head. I was born the 4th generation in building custom homes, and mechanic work, as well as electrical apprenticing. So building has been natural and normal for me all growing up. Now as you can imagine, I combine wanting to own my own plan and fly it, with the building trade in me, and I want to build my very own airplane, take pride in the craftsmanship of the journey and enjoy the rewards for many years, teach my future kids... and move a legacy forward. Living in the Colorado mountains where I was born and raised, the back country is my playground, and I have always wanted to see it like the eagle does, from up in the air. If you combine all I have done and wrap it into one experience, it would be a KitFox home built airplane. You have kept a legacy going, and continue to do so, I just want to thank you sir for helping me through inspiration to keep going after my dream, hoping that one day I can save enough money and buy one of your kits helping to do my part to keep aviation alive, inspire others to be creative, and spread there wings... just like the wright brothers did 117 years ago. I watch every video I see that has a kitfox in it, and I especially enjoy the ones you (John) produce. Thank you so much, I hope to do business with you someday. Hopefully sooner than later. Thank you for what you do.And always, May God bless you all, your family and the team you lead for such a fine product and contribution to the world. I hope to meet you and fly with you someday!

Consider for elements so far as Tractor Configuration, High Wing planes are concerned [yes, I realize that they are the most popular type of GA craft]: 1) pilot cannot see traffic Or where s/he is going in the start of a turn [requiring what my Granddaughter calls "playing Peek-a-Boo" by rocking up the wing prior to initiating each turn]; 2) narrow wheelbase compared to a Beech, Mooney or Piper [meaningful during crab-to-landing situations]; 3) top-heavy CG, especially with fuel in the wings [and fuel in header tank or fuselage is yet, another Safety issue]; 4) flaperons as opposed to separate ailerons and flaps [yes, the low-winged Vans also has them on the RV-12 Only...out of all their models]. Please inform me how to perform a side-slip-to-landing using flaperons (as opposed to crossing the controls on an ailerons-separate flaps setup); 5) all high-winged aircraft are sketchy in cross-wind landings because the wind gets under the wing and tends to rock the plane over; 6) high-winged planes enable hardly any ground-effect; 7) And, despite all of the above, Cessnas are ubiquitous !

Great to see more videos from the factory John - all very motivating, thanks! If you’re in need of video ideas for future content: perhaps one sharing your thoughts on getting ready to take delivery, preparing a space to build and ideal workshop accessories (fuse/wing rotisseries, etc) that can be built prior to delivery would be useful - I know the TeamKitfox forum has a lot of this info, but ‘from the horses mouth’ so to speak, is always appreciated. All the best and trust you’re all keeping well!

Thanks for the video. Can you please keep doing these types of videos and go through the entire catalogue of options. As well as pricing for customers who choose to have your shop build the plane. Not all of are mechanics but love your planes. Maybe do a video of the most expensive factory built plane and the lowest price factory built plane. Just for us who want to join the kit fox family but cant shell off 150k now. Keep up the great work.
