I read the title wrong in my notification. I initially thought it said quad GPU support in an mATX case, which confused the crap outta me! 😂

Sliding the cables between the psu and front panel is a TIP I haven’t seen for this case after watching a few videos, so thank you for that! Waiting for this case to arrive and I’m going to try fit my matx build into it. Only thing I’m worried about is my current Psu isn’t modular so probably gonna end up switching that out but I’ll still try 😂 great video as always !

For the price, as a budget option, this case is pretty good. It is so close to being perfect but then it wouldn't be $70.

You mean they would need to spend more to make it perfect ? What’s missed the mark ? Curious
@originalscreenname44
@originalscreenname44 Ай бұрын
@@Necromancerbob-zp7us One thing Gear Seekers mentioned in their review was that the top radiator mounts weren't removable which would allow you to install the PSU before an AIO and if you needed to do anything with an AIO or radiator you would be able to just pull it from the top instead of having to fully uninstall the PSU to even get to it. He did mention that it might have been done in order to maintain rigidity for the chassis, plus you can kind of do that with the side mount.

Great job, but the same observation for the lack of front vents so that a > 1000 W source draws air from the outside, not from the inside (special in GAMES). Perhaps the Lian Li smart collaborator Der Bauer should also have been consulted... The version with WOOD is also very beautiful.

I did the jump to MATX a couple years ago. I already had a case with a compact horizontal footprint (but tall, like a building), and last year I got a "cube" case with a internal layout that I consider ideal. The motherboard is in the horizontal, with the PSU below it. The whole thing is about a 30cm/1ft in all dimensions. No more "compact" anything for me, since the only limitation is that the GPU must be up to 30cm in length, but that only exclude really top end overclocked cards, or smaller ones with oversized cooling (looking at you, RTX4060 bigger than a 4080...). Besides the GPU length limitation, it also don't support liquid cooling, but as a firm believer in air cooling, that don't affect me, since it can accommodate big air coolers. It is also super easy to work with, since all panels are removable and there is no component getting squashed into each other. And the cherry on top is: no more GPU sag for me.

Very toight! I see that the tempered glass side panel is an accessory to be purchased separately. Newegg has the case and they have the panel, but the panel isn't addable or even "people also bought this" from the case page - You have to go find it with your own searching skills. It costs $18 for the panel. I really like this case at $70. I just kinda like it at $88. Wish we had more footage of the complete build with the mesh panel on.

Now cases require 3 slots minimum for the GPU, they may as well add another slot for mATX support, barely needing to change the dimensions of the case. Would normally say that boards with the x16 slot as the second slot down are a bad idea for SFF builds, as it means that the GPU is starved of air up against the bottom of the case where the PSU usually sits. In this case it was a really good idea, being close to the ventilated case bottom.

Shorter cables don't always mean easier or better cable management. I've seen a few builds in this case using SFX power supplies and they made a right hash of the cable management. I'd always prefer to use ATX if possible, more flexibility and choice.

What makes this Lian Li A3 stand out is PSU SIDE-MOUNT! Why? Cuz now it may fit 2(!) 360 AIO. Or an AIO for CPU, then vertically mount a super long graphics (not too thick tho). Just my idea, never done by myself cuz I’m not a fan of AIO. Welcome to share your thoughts (or builds)!

had my eye on the Q58 for a little bit (im a ways out from building still), but Im really liking this case. I dont want as small as possible, so i dont mind that this is a bit bigger of a form factor. This is still plenty small enough for me. but the Q58 is a gorgeous little case too so im not discounting it entirely. but then there's the two smaller O11s that I cant forget. Either way, Im almost certainly I'll be going Lian Li for my next build (always been a Fractal person, but the Terra doesnt really do it for me).

It's a great case but for some reason there are no high end mATX AM5 motherboards in sight... There's one B650E from Biostar (and impossible to buy just about anywhere) and Asus X670E Gene that is both outrageously expensive and also discontinued - it's the only mATX motherboard that comes with USB4. I really, really hope new AM5 chipsets will improve this situation... allegedly all X870 motherboards will have USB4 as standard. Lets see how many mATX board will we get this time...

@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech 2 ай бұрын
In our test system the intake was coming from the GPU fans as they are just about touching the flor of the case. with some slimmer graphics cards and motherboards that utilise the very top PCIe slot cut-out you will be able to install floor fans, the floor has a dust filter.

It has the same oversized length Asus Prime AP201 and Jonsbo D31 cousins have. So no marketing image shows it straight angle from the side. Almost bought that Asus 2 years back. But it's 10l bigger than a Meshroom S and doesn't support ATX boards 😅

i just asked the same thing, weird really. not sure its a wonderful design to utilise the maximum of the space inside.

Meshroom S is great but there are a lot of compatibility compromises with that case compared to the A3. Much smaller ATX PSU support, no 360mm radiator support, air cooler height is very limited etc. Both good cases in their own ways.

@KitGuruTech I get it and the A3 is a great price. It has a big footprint especially for people who have it on their desk. I do like that matx mobos are making a comeback in popularity though

@@v1nnyc Yep footprint isn't much smaller than a regular ATX case.

26 liters?? That's *huge* compared to ITX. The 15 liter NCase M1EVO also fits mATX and a quad slot GPU. Where does this dude draw his imaginary comaprisons from? 🥴
