My experience with office chairs from was always resulting in a replacement within 2 years. I understand the appeal of gaming chairs, they are really nice to look at. My solution was to find a nice used Humanscale Liberty at a price less than this. Not nearly as pretty but the comfort and durability is exponential.

I have been using the chair for 1.5 years and I can say it absolutely did NOT pass the test of time. The armrest can move a lot more without changing position and the wabble is far worst than when I first bought it. Both the bottom cushion and the back cushion are hard and not comfortable to sit on.

One year into using this chair, the leather on the seat started cracking and Cougar Gaming called it a "cosmetic issue", refusing to do anything about it. :')

@@EmilChristensenHeaton Nope, mate, I aint even trying anymore.. The chair's features/mechanisms are unchanged but the leather is damaged. I just use a pillow/blanket over my chair these days... It is still comfortable, don't get me wrong, but when summer comes it's gonna be pain xD Edit: Definitely the leather got worse since my comment, tho xD My boyfriend uses the cheaper chair (the black and orange one, with soft leather and no stitches on the seat). He weights two times more than me and has no issues for half an year so far. I can keep an update on his here, if anyone is interested.

@@ellectra6539 Appreciate the Update,I bought this Chair Yesterday , and I'm really hoping the Leather won't Tear too soon. I was wondering if in your case the Leather Started to tear cause of direct sunlight/Humidity or Air conditioner. I know this can reduce the Quality of the leather and can cause this issues. Glad you're still enjoying it despite this issue ! :) Hope it will last much longer!

Ooof a bit pricey for what is essentially "just another racing chair". Wish these companies would stop with the cookie cutter designs and start actually putting some effort into ergonomic design

@@KitGuruTech Yeah I mean it's all well and good finishing the outer part of the chair with some plusher materials but that doesn't change the fact that the design of this chair is basically identical to your noblechairs, secretlab's, corsair's, etc of the world. After seeing Gamers Nexus shed light on how all of these really do come from the same factory with a different logo slapped on them it's really sad to see that there is literally no innovation or variation or RnD put into making these chairs actually comfortable for long term daily use. I bought a Noblechairs Icon actually mostly on the influence from the review on this channel! I was very disappointed. I'm one guy and you can't extrapolate my experience to everyones, I get that. But there is a consensus forming that these 4-5 designs that are getting rebranded really are not ergonomic or suitable for long use at all. Yet they still get peddled nonetheless. To finish, I binned my noblechairs after less than 6 months, got an Ikea Markus and have never looked back. These companies need to do better.

@@recess677 that Ikea Marcus chair is in stock less than 5 miles away from my house and for only $200. Thanks man Im going to pick one of those up. I have an uncomfortable gaming/racing chair now and I regret buying it. It looks cool. It feels awful. Makes my right hand get carpel tunnel from the non adjustable armrest and the poor design hurts my lower back.
@recess677

@@KitGuruTech The arm rests were very very uncomfortable towards the end of the day. A combo of bad material and really poor range of adjustability (they don't go high enough, outwards enough or backwards enough). This was really bad for me as I have quite broad shoulders so always felt like I was tucking my shoulders in and scrunching up my neck/traps to keep my arms on the rests. With no adjustability of the "seat part" (Where your butt is) together with the shape of the lumbar area basically being an ironing board. You aren't really able to sit far enough back in the seat and arch your back so that your shoulders are slightly behind your lower spine to have a good posture. It pushes you to hunch forward. I'm aware it comes with a lumbar pillow, but they are a plaster over fatal flaw. The silly straps on mine didn't even let me put it in one spot. I had to take them off and hope the pillow didn't move (Which of course it did). The ever so slight arch in the seat didn't even remotely correspond to my lower spine. It was more pressing on my tail bone. The seat pad itself was the only redeeming quality for me, perfect comfort with just enough give. There were more problems with it but it's been a few months since I've had it

Hi Christina 🥰👋 Another great in depth review by Kitguru. Bit of rough treatment during shipping or in additional to poor packaging by the manufacturer 🤔 the rough paint scratches under the frame of the arm rest and scuffs on the faux leather looks like an internal issue by people building and packing the chair. Not very good to see.

I sat in the HMA and could not justify the price vs comfort... Which is of course the wrong way to look at a long term investment... I settled on a discounted Vertagear Triigger 350 having previously bought a "Gaming" (probably the most uncomfortable, unergonomic and a waste of money) chair. Cookie cutter gaming chairs need to die a death... Thorough review as always Christina!

Thanks for the review, I however feel that with recent review events (gamers nexus exposing this industry) on youtube that these sorts of reviews need to start being more thorough. A few things I felt about this review. The price is suspiciously low, for that reason I think there should be more speculation to why, things like how long life this chair will truly have in it etc. The chair hugs your frame - this isn't always a good thing, and with quite aggressive sides can affect your posture by pushing your shoulders forward, not good. You sat in it for "hours", ok but how many hours? That's a very very vague length of time and these chairs will always hold up at the start, but the acid test is 100+ hours down the line or when you've been using it every day for work for example. Those armrests are identical to all the other "4d" armrests and makes me think this is once again another one of those cookie cutter chairs from the factories in Taiwan... On that note do we know where this was made, is there any information to prove for or against the statement that it's not just another rebranded cheap chair? Every company tries to upsell the make of these chairs, but at the end of the day there's only so much they can actually do to them to make them better, and the real price of these is so low, it's a huge upsell even at this price. it fully reclines... What a gimmick... I'm sorry, but did anyone really want this on an office chair, or even think to themselves "god i really wish my chair reclined fully backwards to horizontal". funnily I've never seen this feature on one in any office in London I've worked in, and I think I know why. The saving grace this particular chair probably has is that you've aimed it at smaller people in the title, maybe they'll be light enough that weight issues with the seat won't occur as soon and they'll find it comfier for longer. I'm still not sold, for the price this costs there's some far better chairs out there for less (ikea markus has been mentioned already, none of the gimmicks but great support without these stupid pillows, have you reviewed that?) I think it's suboptimal that you appear to be reviewing this chair against another cookie cutter cheap taiwan factory MSI chair and nothing else. I also just looked at the mag ch110 and they're almost identical in design to this chair! The only visual difference is the material and colour! C'mon kitguru.... Then there's the used market of chairs thats then far better for a health to price ratio than this chair will ever be, could these ever be reviewed or will we only see cheaper chairs? I wonder why more corporate offices haven't thought to start using gaming chairs if they're so good... 🤔 What eactly has Cougar cracked? if youre claiming that Cougar cracked the ability to contact a factory and request a certain design from a list of options, yeah, i think the majority of the gaming industry has also done the same...

I think doing research on gaming chairs and office chairs is the best bet. There are quite a few pretty rubbish office chairs too. My friend has one and its so uncomfortable. As always doing a lot of research is the best option to get what you think will work best for your size, weight and body shape.

I'm actually saving up for a brand new Embody. It helped someone with some serious back issues handle it better. I sit too much during a day to not buy a proper chair. A used Herman Miller is 100% what anyone should buy if they care about their backs and are on more of a budget.

I can't help but notice the pervasive 'gaming chairs' are crap comments. Not so much, some actually do offer proper support at a fraction of the cost of the over rated Herman Miller option, which has become popular enough in some areas that you can't get cheap Herman Miller chairs used anymore anyway. What's frustrating with the reviews of this category of product is which chairs really are ergonomic and which many correctly point out are often not. I found this out with my first gaming chair, my second one is Noblechair with adjustable lumbar support and the difference between the two couldn't be greater. Just sitting down reveals the difference immediately. Just like having 'gaming chair' label doesn't make it great for gaming, it doesn't always make it bad for sitting either. This comes up constantly in the comments of chair reviews, Tech Jesus has an entire video covering this and wonder how much that video is driving these comments. I'm not saying Tech Jesus was wrong, my first gaming chair is kind of awful. She somewhat answered this question on whether it offered proper support briefly, but wish this detail was covered more completely. Personally I'm not a pillow fan. My first chair did indeed end my lower back pain because the pillow forced a curve in my spine, but always adjusting it was annoying and it wasn't comfortable in other ways. I suppose the best way currently is to look for a lumbar adjustment knob or the professional certifications real office chairs also have, like Herman Miller, as a way to find the adult chairs from the kids chairs. I love the 'it's expensive comments', particularly people who complain about 400-500 for a chair, considering the ergonomic office chairs are over 1K. I think 400 for a solid chair that offers proper ergomnics and will last is actually a great value. How do you tell which ones have the proper support?
