Thanks for sharing. Pity ASUS X670E-E model was not included which IMO is a better deal compared to X670E-F.

No it isnt for everybody, not at all actually. What you get extra is just a pci slot that most gamers dont need, since dual gpu is dead basically and you get an even more overbuilt vrm section that nobody will ever need to oc any ryzen processors now or in the future, the strix f & a is totally sufficient already. So all you really get extra that you actually NEED or could need is 4x usb ports, but thats a big if.. also on the strix - e you halve the pci gpu slot speed if you use 4 nvme, while the strix f and a retain 2xpcie5 and 2xpcie4 speeds for all m2 drives while retaining gpu slot speed at pci5 x16. So why spend 100 dollars more for that is beyond me, theres no point at all whatsoever. Audio is the same too as well as bios oc features. F and a are clearly better choices for pure gamers.

@@premium3429 thanks for detail reply but ny comment was over a year go. Prices, hardware and value have changed a good bit. It also matters a lot where you buy as pricing and availability does differ.

@@Edsdrafts No problem mate! I just felt like i had to say something, because many reviewers and ppl think you need overbuilt vrms and dual pci lanes. Reality is that nobody really needs this. 99% of gamers just want one gpu and 2 or 3 nvme drives, most dont even use 3. With intel its different due to the power consumption. But amd works even better undervolted, which makes it even cooler and easier on the vrms. People that do benching are better off with Taichis, Hero's and the like. The strix - e makes sense for people that still do dual gpu / simuation stuff or need tons and tons of storage and expansion cards, which is almost nobody.

Just bought this board for my 7800x3d! Overkill I know, but I got it for only $290usd because of both a sale from the retailer, and an asus cashback promotion. Hopefully AM5 sticks around for a while, so I can utilize this board to it's full potential down the line once it's time for another cpu upgrade!

If only their customer support were great. Got burned badly last year. Received a faulty motherboard, and after i send it to RMA, they said i broke the PCI-E Slot, so my warranty was void. When i shipped it back to them there wasn't a single dent on the motherboard or PCI-E slot. Never ASUS again.

The crazy thing is 16 x16 slots works pcie 5.0 and the 16 x4 slot worls at the same time on pcie 4.0 while the 16 x16 slot still works at x16. So possible to use a great high end gpu card and a cheap ome on the lower slot if neeeded. Well PCI E 3.0 x16 is maybe overloaded now with a 4090 but was for a long time more than enough the bandwidth of 3.0 x16.

Now I've put together the pc ,minus the cpu (7800x3d is on the way). I read you can boot into bios i tried turn the pc on nothing happens not even fan spin😢. There seems to be power going to usb's though. Tried using my spare psu samething happens. Will it work when i put the cpu in or is the board dead? 😢

I'm looking at buying an X670E based system soon, and I'm really tempted to stretch my budget to the ROG Crosshair Hero. It just looks like a really premium board. Very clean lines. I'm doing a custom hardtube liquid cooling, so looks do matter. However, I do feel the price of the Hero is a bit high, and I'm also quite inclined to go with the MSI MPG X670E Carbon Wifi, as I feel it offers a better balance of features, design and price. I'm not in a major rush to get it built though, so I'm keeping my eyes open for sales over the Christmas period.
@rebeccaschade3987
@rebeccaschade3987 Жыл бұрын
@Matthew Walsh The price difference isn't worth losing the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot over. Unless I was to go with a low end board, which I certainly wouldn't do for a fully custom liquid cooled build.
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech Жыл бұрын
I think there can be several instances where spending premium money on a premium motherboard is very much worth it. I would say that a hardtube liquid cooled build that you plan to keep for some time is one of those cases. Yes, the board will be expensive, but so is all the hardtube gubbins too :D! Luke
@rebeccaschade3987
@rebeccaschade3987 Жыл бұрын
@@KitGuruTech My current build is already sporting a full EKWB setup. I'll be reusing most of the liquid cooling parts, just adding a new waterblock, and possibly a new pump top with RGB. And yes, the liquid cooling components are a big expense. I would never recommend it for any other reason than to make a showcase build. Here in Norway the MSI MPG X670E Carbon Wifi costs £490 while the Crosshair Hero costs around £700. At that point, I do find it quite difficult to defend the rather significant price bump, which is why I'm waiting to see if either of the boards shows up on a sale during the xmas period. My reasonable side is saying that the Carbon is more than good enough, but my aesthetic sense is saying "No, no, that Crosshair Hero board looks oh soooo good." It's making it hard to come to a decision :D

Nice overview. The ROG ASUS X670E boards are overpriced. If you want extra beefy VRMs and a bunch of specs that current technology can't take advantage of, then someone might like these boards. IMO, for the price you're paying, your better off getting a lower cost board and using the money you save toward another future board several years for now (assuming you still want those future oriented features). Their B650E motherboards are far more attractive to me.

The price on the ITX board is absurd, not to mention the many "features" that noone asked for. For such a high-end motherboard, they didn't even try to ensure that any AIO blocks or low-profile coolers even fit it. The external DAC is pretty mediocre quality compared to others on the market and it seems to be included to inflate the price for no reason (why are Asus the only manufacturer who can't fit onboard audio onto their X670 ITX board?). The daughterboard and massive m2 stack cause clearance issues in popular slimmer ITX cases such as the Dan A4-H20 and console-style cases. A massive downgrade over AM4 where there were lots of good options at less than half the price.
