Uhm...yea...it is very bright. Ofcourse you can turn it of... and use your phone for gps speed...lol

@@nicm5616 its a replica build...so ofcourse its repeatable. A replica like this one vary in price from 48k till 55k. But search the internet and you will find better deals

it would be interesting to use some of the voice files from a knight rider gps on one for the region the car is going and integrate it because Bill Daniels actually sat down for that and recorded the voice prompts ... Again , you did a damn fine job on that car . now if I could only R/C my 07 civic lol.

@@BjornHarmsRC its is an automatic and if you have ever seem star trek DS9 I could be called a "Chief O'Brien". Basically a technician by birth lol. I know my way around electronics and automobiles pretty well.. I wonder if the accelerator would be easier to make an interface or just pull with a servo because on that year its "drive by wire" to the throttle body ..

@@ryanjosef throttle is the most easy thing to control. Adding a servo is often faster then adding a extra decoder or arduino to control the flybywire system. I build a special rc kit that i use for all my cars

Dear Mr. Harms, I am a 15 year old car enthusiast and I have a question for you. I would like to buy a BMW 750iL E38 in the future. The car has an automatic transmission. I would like to paint the vehicle silver and put on certain rims. I would like to recreate James Bond's vehicle from the film, Tomorrow Never dies. But I also need a remote control for the vehicle. I think about the controller "DX-18" with 18 channels, or in the best case to control it on a Nokia Communicator. I would like to controll the engine (ignition, start), gearbox (P, N, D, R), steering (gas, brake, left, right), central locking, the trunk, the lighting system (high beam, low beam, indicators), the sliding Roof, doors (front, rear) and maybe some gadgets. Now is my question to you: Is something like this possible, if so, how expensive would it be and could you take care of it (i mean the installation)? Thank you very much and best regards

I know precisely what you want to create. So in the movie, they used a stunt driver / sitting very low/ and behind the seat of the BMW. Pretty much the same idea as knightrider. Yes, it is possible to recreate the BMW with a real RC system. You have alot of demands on what you want to control, so that will take some time to mod all the rc functions. The question is, do you still want the car to be a daily driver? Or just fully RC controlled? There are plenty of transmitters that you can use for this mod. Main thing is that you have plenty of channels for all the functions. Using a nokia communicator....IF you would be able to install a 2.4ghz module and correct software on it, it will be to dangerous and difficult to drive a real car with such a small display and buttons. You need a better controller so you can dosage power and steering. The universal RC kits i build normaly cost around 6500 euro. I use this setup for all my rc projects. But ofcourse, every car is different.. so you need to be a bit creative to 'hide' all the controls in the car and still keep the car manually drivable. However, i like this idea....so feel free to contact me for future build. Best thing is to contact me on instagram or facebook.

And with the Nokia, it was actually supposed to be based on the Ericsson JB988. Thank you for pointing this out to me. But I still have one question: Could this work with a modern cell phone? In addition, the vehicle should not be a daily driver, but it can be (if possible). And if it isn't possible, to controll everything, it doesn't matter. ​@@MrRacer04yes...it is possible to control the car by rc. By phone? By me...but yes. Could be possible. But less safe. You could add a camera and extra screen in the back or a fpv headset

De kitt replicas die ik bouw zijn gewoon road-legal. Uiteraard is de RC functie een 'mod' die je voor veiligheid het beste off-road kunt gebruiken. Maar de autos zijn gewoon apk gekeurd en zijn manual en RC bestuurbaar. Over het algemeen bouw ik deze autos voornamelijk voor 'klanten'.
