These kittens won't stop bullying Zuko the boston terrier puppy! We got these three kittens in pretty bad shape health wise and completely feral. We've been nursing them back to health but part of making them good pets is socializing them. Their first encounter with a dog didn't exactly go well but we expected this. @Hunter Doucette that specific area is for the kittens though. They're only babies. So being around New things makes them scared. So of course they hiss and all that. But they're slowly getting used to them. I've seen videos of a cat and dog being best friends. Just wait a little. Soon they'll playing and then it'll be sad to see them part.

I went back to catch it a second time...very impressive skills. Truth be told, I was a bit nervous until I noticed he was not "too" young (young [under 2 years old] Boston Terriers are known to have somewhat fragile front legs when they're under two). My 8 month old (at the time) Roxy broke her left front leg in two spots by simply jumping off the sidewalk. They're front/top heavy so her elbow gave way as she landed and her leg fractured above & below the elbow. She was treated and fully recovered. We had 15 wonderful years together.♥

I think you guys are doing a great job. Feral kittens are no joke. I’ve dealt with them before, and getting them this far is REALLY remarkable. They’re affectionate with you for one thing, which is wonderful to see. They won’t let a dog hurt them, either, which also puts them on good footing in truth. I watched the first video right before this one and was really impressed by how well you held space for Zuko AND the kittens. It was scary for Zuko, but you weren’t going to allow him to get hurt. The progress here is amazing. Kudos to you all for the hard work and patience! 🙏❤️😄

Owning a fucked up inbred breed like those little rat dogs is inherently cruel. They often die young from their genetic flaws. especially the one who has those little seizures. My bull terrier moved the same way, had to be rushed to the vet one night when she had a violent seizure in the night, whimpering and walking backwards - the vet said she was in great pain and there was nothing they could do but put her down right there and then. I'll never own a pedigree again. vanity.

There's always those dense shallow folk who see their pets as property, like some kind of status symbol, rather than just another creature that they're living alongside. Even the German shepherd is trying to figure out why the Boston terriers are so extra! The kittens love the shepherd because he is so chill, but those terriers are disturbing the peace, so much so the shepherd got up and got on the cat bed, lol!

Every German Sheppard I've had has been a bit on the wimpy side. One was a retired "scent tracker" from the rcmp. They do make for great companions. I switched to Boston Terriers when I left home because I was in an apartment. I've had my two best buds and have fostered 6 more. Also fostered pitties & a few oddball mix breeds. All of them have been great! I'm of the opinion that it falls on me to rise to the moment when it's possible. To make the effort, wether it be a little bit of extra love, some more research or ressources, dedication & perseverance. It's quite rewarding too. ♥

Can't believe people went off about the video with the kittens and Zuko you were doing something to help those kittens and are more than capable of recognizing if you dog was actually in great distress or not , besides even if he jumped when the kittens hissed he remained inquisitive about the kittens the whole time a stressed and fearful dog wouldn't do that

Agreed. Anyone who thinks this is harmful doesn't know animals. They need to be socialized. And in a calm environment they can be, and it can work out well. I've done it myself. It takes patience, kindness, love and nurturing. The animals respond to OUR reactions as well. Good job with the socialization. Thanks.

It’s great to socialize your cats with as many animals as possible in my opinion and experience. My cats have become totally chill when I’m down dog sitting because of this.

Poor Zuko! The Kitties just aren’t “into” him! I LOVED Lila’s BT freakout when the Kitties didn’t understand her play bow. Good Boys, Dexter and Grimm, for not eating the little buggers! The way you introduced the kittens to the dog in the last video was just fine. Animals, like people, get stressed in new situations. It's necessary for them to adapt and undergo changes. You're handling the kittens' fear of dogs in much the same way a behavioral therapist might treat a person with a phobia. The first video was simple exposure to a single dog. In the second, you brought in multiple dogs; in behavioral therapy, this is called "flooding."

It is absolutely a good thing to socialize the kittens. If they are more dog friendly that better maximizes their chance of finding a forever home. Most people have both cats and dogs.

Oh wow the difference in the kitties from the first vid to this one is really noticeable. They're so much more calm and confident. That orange kitty at the end even engaged in play act while less than a foot away from a dog. There's still ways to go but these kitties are lucky to have found someone with the patience and knowledge u have as they will now have an even bigger range of homes they can go to.

Terriers are high energy breeds. Plus there's a puppy in the bunch too. No bullying there, just a pack of social ones wanting to play with not yet fully socialized kittens...judging by the progress made since the first session, they'll all be friends in no time. ☺
