Fallon was the first POC metal guitarist/artist I had ever seen at 14. I was a closet metal fan, and often too scared to admit I liked it for fear of being bullied. However, I felt so seen just knowing she unapologetically existed. I love her and this band forever for that. ❤️

Lol I was wearing metal shirts when I was like 12. I was unapologetically a huge metal fan from a young age. Was never bullied, but I was also lucky enough to just be friendly with everyone.
@pr90393 жыл бұрын
Bro, you really gotta look into more metal. Metal is RIFE with "POC" (fucking HATE that stupid term) people. Metal is just metal. If you love the art form, you wanna play in it or play in the pit with people who like it but don't contribute, whatever, we're all here for fun and to connect. Sucks that you had to wait until someone with a certain amount of melanin in their skin came your way for you to get into it, but hopefully you break out of those shackles eh?
@pr90393 жыл бұрын
Check out Skindred, Sepultura or Soulfly, Death by Stereo (although they're a protopunk metal band but FUCK they're great!)....so many, yo. If that's a thing you care about, Metal and Punk got you there. But stop looking at skin color and start looking at performances you like and music you enjoy.

I spent the past 25 years declining in health and fighting to live, planning my death a few times. Now that I've got the upper hand, the music I listened to as a kid that my mind didn't let me remember is popping up randomly. It's amazing my illness made me forget Kittie. They blew us all away. I remember in middle school we boys and girls had mad love for Kittie. That CD really made its rounds in borrowing! As a teen I interpreted this song as being about not exploiting women for sex (the video really helped my dim mind to understand that). And it nourished me to have these conversations with my male peers at that age for us to not exploit our lady friends as our hormones began to rage and we began to look at things differently. I am grateful I found such guidance from a song that I didn't get from anywhere else. Jin jiyan azadi!

Rockfest in Kansas City a million years ago, 2001 or 2, you just put out an album, Oracle, my sister and I played on loop driving a couple hours to catch your set, just in time. "Welcome to the machine" blew my mind as a cover, but the whole set was bad ass, lots of energy. You killed the set and my brother Tristan somehow ended up on stage and stage dove. Didn't even know he was there until I saw him on stage. Wild. When I came to the meet and greet, you all signed my ticket and it's still on one of my amps, Mercedes and Morgan were both chill enough to grant me a hug even though the line was pretty long and it was hot as fuck out there so we were all sweaty and gross. I moved one of my guitar amps to make room for one of the bass amps and found the ticket, this is why I needed to reach out on the KZbin, proper channels, right? Thank you again for your art.

I used to tell my friends about this band when I was a kid, they all made fun of me, but I will never stop loving this band.

Ironic because one of my colleagues mentioned Kittie before we were juniors in high school in 2004

I've been a huge D.M fan growing up since a kid, but Kittie will always hold a special place in my heart growing up during this era ❤ undisputed

Like have said in previous comments about this band. They are amazing been listening to them for years and they don’t get the same respect as their male counterparts in metal. I believe they should get the same respect and attention as let’s say Korn!?
