I do agree on the first part. It's not the guns that kill people. It's the people armed with those guns that kill them. Even though they might have a conceal carry license, it doesn't mean they can responsibly wield a gun.

I was a cadet in an armed forces outside of the US. This argument is nuts There are very few tools that can be so carelessly fired and kill someone accidentally, when handing a rifle, loaded or not, you would cock the slide, hold it in place, visually check the bolt, the mag well and the chamber twice, before handing it over. Sure when no people are around, guns don’t kill people. Guns don’t always kill when the person holding it intended.

Speaking as a bully victim myself, I can tell you that standing up to your bully doesn't always work; whether you use force or words. I tried many times to use the latter on everyone who harassed me from 6th Grade up to my Senior Year of High School and it all ended the same way. Either the teachers did nothing to the bullies or they punished ME instead. One time, I got sentenced to weeks worth of two forms of punishment in High School; five days Lunch Detention and two In-School Suspension for a crime I did not commit. In Lunch Detention, you were put in a cubicle space and forced to keep quiet until the bell rang and if you chose to buy lunch that day, you couldn't go to the cafeteria to get it. Instead, you were handed a paper bag containing a PB&J sandwich, a banana, a snack-sized bag of potato chips and a small carton of plain milk. My parents felt this was unfair, went to the office and demanded the punishment be lifted off me. So, to an extent...Stan is WRONG about how to deal with bullies

Not to mention Stan wasn’t really arguing Steve had to stand up for himself in general, he wanted Steve to stand up for himself, WITHOUT HELP. Hence the oranges debate. That’s why Steve paying Stelio to kick his butt was so satisfying, Stan was bulling Steve with the intent for a KID to Fist fight him. Just like he wanted Steve to carry the oranges up the stairs HIMSELF. Second Stan was kinda preaching “you have to do something. Doing nothing won’t solve your problem.” When he himself did nothing and his bully moved. Solving his problem. He never dealt with his bully HIMSELF, but expected his son to.

Like when Haley forgot to put gas in Francine's car, that line by Jeff after Haley says she forgot to put gas in the car, rite after they run out of gas. Jeff's one liners are freaking hilarious! And the mighty Fister can take one hell of a rip, and have Snoop Dogg tell him "I love you Jeff Fischer!". I don't think I'm alone in this, but Jeff is probably my favorite character. 17:53 I was called to jury duty about a decade ago I think and in this trial they did clarify that there are people of different races, I think it was Hispanic but to be honest I don't remember because I just don't want to do jury duty, but anyways there was a form to fill out that you could fill out and say that you're racist so you don't have to do the trial. I'm serious yeah or or whatever the heck it was. I got out of it because I have ADHD and hearing dyslexia and I clarified that I would not be any good as a juror because my hearing dyslexia causes me to completely misinterpret what I'm hearing and if I'm already bored in court from my ADHD making me hyper and inattentive and then on top of that I can't even interpret what's going on because of my hair and dyslexia I would really suck at jury duty so I got out of the trial because of that. But frustratingly enough a few years ago I was called to jury duty again despite already writing down on that form about my disabilities and how I would suck as a juror and instead of actually having the opportunity to fill out a form right at the beginning No I had to be in multiple different offices to learn about the case and learn about this and that and learn about all this stuff having to do with the trial and I was so angry because I had already clarified about my disabilities, but finally when we actually saw the judge we were given the opportunity to present a reason as to why we shouldn't be a juror and I was the first to talk and I just explained to the judge that I have ADHD and hearing dyslexia and with my hearing dyslexia I have difficulty interpreting what people say to me. It even causes me to not understand what my wife is telling me even though she's right in front of me. I would make a terrible juror because I wouldn't really know what's going on. And fortunately the judge completely understood that and he let me go. P.S: To clarify I actually have really great hearing and I also have great eyesight, it's just that even though I can clearly hear what people are saying to me and most the time I understand it, sometimes my hearing dyslexia just kind of jumbles up what they're saying and even though I clearly heard every single word I can't interpret it. It's a frustrating disorder to have because there are so many people out there who just don't understand it and if I tell them I didn't understand what they said they oftentimes will get pissed off about it and I kid you not in a lot of conversations I simply choose to just pretend to understand what they're saying just so they Don't get mad at me.

As far as Bully for Steve goes, my personal thought has always been that Stan would've given up after the first punch Steve threw. He clearly didn't think that Steve could beat him one on one, come on Stan is dim but he's not that stupid guys, and he was being encouraging to Steve when he was standing up to Stan, so he probably would've thrown the fight to let Steve get some self-confidence and popularity with his peers. To the ones who say Stan is a hypocrite, why do you think he is doing this? He clearly regrets not standing up to Stelio Kontos 🎶Stelio, Stelio Kontos, Stelio🎶(sorry not sorry) in his youth and doesn't want Steve to grow up with the same regrets he has. He wants better for his son and is forcing him to toughen up, albeit in an insane troll logic kind of way but he has the spirit.

The biggest problem I have about Bully for Steve is the metaphor they keep using about getting the oranges up the stairs. A weird metaphor, since I guess it's supposed to mean he has to do work for himself. Both Stan and Steve have points, but Steve doesn't learn his lesson. Steve isn't going to pay someone to stand up to him, but if he does it's not like they will always stand up FOR him. He's going to have to learn to stand up for himself, mommy and daddy aren't going to help you all the time, and no amount of money is going to help you become a better person.

Like Stans breaking point was when Steve was unwilling to bike up a steep hill, or even to walk up it, which yeah that is way too pathetic. Even when I first saw this as a kid, I hated the whole “I’ll just pay someone else to carry the oranges” because it was a toxic mentality. You can’t/shouldn’t always pay someone else to do the work for you, you need to/should do some things on your own. The whole bully thing was meant to create a scenario where Steve can’t weasel or avoid the problem but be forced to actually face it but I think that got lost halfway through

As a former bully I can confirm its mainly the sense of power control & kinda sick satisfaction you feel from doing something you know is horrible. I mainly bullied p1s when I was in what p2 till p5 I stopped doing it because well my brother was in p1 when I was in p6 & I didn't want to bully anyone & then in p7 I was p7 & I never started doing it again. But I still kinda miss the wierd sick feeling but have enough self control to not do it. I'd say most bullies just do it for that reason. However it might be partly due to other factors but mainly the sense of power. Speaking of it makes me kinda feel sick at the horrible things I did. Made people fear me such an odd thing.

One thing I do not like about Haley is the fact that she complains about the government and everything but she wants to live off her dad’s money so basically she embodies the whole thing hippies complaining about the government, but they sponge out of it as well

My Dad: "Son, don't go punching people over words, but you've gotta hit them back if they cross that line. You can't let them think you're their punching bag." Kid Me: "What if I get sent to the office again?" My Dad: "Yeah. I've met your principal. Just make sure they call me if this happens again." Turns out, most bullies don't like getting grabbed by the throat and most zero-tolerance dipsticks become way more tolerant when a roughneck construction foreman is yelling at them! 😂 TL;DR - Kids should be taught to fight back within reason and parents need to have their backs. Bullies tend to be spineless and school administrators even moreso.

The a capella group The Bobs also wrote a fun song about Oliver North called Golly Ollie. It's pretty catchy.

16:55 This is a thing that has always bugged me about bullying in particular: Why is being willing to fight someone so nessecary as a kid, when bullying behavior is a liteny of crimes as adults? Being beaten up, assault; lunch money taken, mugging etc. When those crimes happen most people don't expect you to fight the attacker.

I'm of the opinion that all parents should teach their kids never to start a fight but always finish it if a bully is being an asshole don't ignore them or tell your teacher most of the time it would only make things worse. Instead if you find out your kid is being bullied you find someone who can teach them how to fight and when they're ready tell them to kick the bully's ass and have someone record the altercation so you can prove self defense and after post itanonymously online so other kids know that they don't have to be afraid anymore.

Tbh I would've preferred if Stan had gotten catharsis by beating the ever loving crap of Stellio, leaving Steve terrified thinking the bullying would continue just to reveal that Stellio and Stan were working together. That after Stan became a CIA agent he tracked down and confronted Stellio who apologized to him and the two patched things up and are now friends. Stan beating Stellio up was all a ruse since Stellio is now a professional stunt double and Stan tells Steve that ultimately he did stand up to him maybe not the way he wanted but its progress. So the episode ends with the problem not being completely solved but the seeds of Steve's courage have been planted and he can grow later as the show progresses. Him just paying Stellio and him solving his problem only works if Steve winds up in a position where he can continue delegating his problems in the future. It's semi funny tbh its not even that funny of a scene in the episode when Stellio beats the crap out of Stan I think this other route would've both been better for Stan and also for Steve in the long run
