I have 3 cats. One of them of my cat was 5 years when i got her. I was advised not to adopt her because she had many issues and she had been at refuge for 5 or 6 months. I still got her. I could tell she had been abused, she was afraid everytime i would try to pet her. It took time and patience to gain her trust and show her that i was a good mama, but the work was worth it. She is such a sweetheart and she knows she is save and thriving here with me and my 2 other cats.

I had a cat that showed up on my property that was hanging around my barn. He was only maybe 3 months old and had been abandoned. After a couple weeks I started to feed him but I'm allergic and I have asthma from cats. This little guy didn't really trust me and would not let me get closer than 6 ft to him. After a few more weeks he got brave enough to actually venture into my barn when the door was open. It's a really nice barndominium like a house. He didn't want to leave and I fell in love with him. Somehow someway I got through the first 6 months but I had to use an inhaler every other day. After about 8 or 9 months my allergies got better and it was okay it's like I built up an immunity to my allergies. It really was a miracle I still can't explain it. This all happened in the beginning of my mother died from cancer who I was taking care of. I truly believe that God brought my little Kiki into my life to help me get through the death of my mother and the divorce from my wife.

My family was always into dogs while I was growing up. I now have 2 black female former feral cats who both showed up in my back yard at different times. They live in my house with me now. Both are sweet and loving girls. 🐈‍⬛🥰 It sounds like I am a pretty good cat mom now. 😊

lol..The comment on toys TRULY correct..I JUST had 2 kittens brought to me 9 months ago and I had NO toys so AT FIRST found boxes..cut the holes to stick paws out..PLUS paper lge. bags..cut piece out too..CHEAP FOIL BALLS..HARD ROLL SO SAFE..THEY LOVE IT..THANKS AS I THOUGHT I WAS WIERD..❤

All the best cats I owned were strays. I dont understand how peoplecan throw their pets away?? There are plenty of shelters or organizations that can help. These poor babies were so good and well behaved because they were so greatful to have a home. It takes time to work with them to get their trust, but once they do it's pure love. Sadly they usually dont live as long as adopted cats.

Advice appreciated. My young cat came to live with me a few months ago. She enjoys making biscuits on me soon as I lie down under covers and intermittently thru the night. But she uses her claws when doing so and it is painful. It''s winter now so I gear up and wear corduroy pants to bed but she goes from waist to ankles to exposed feet. I have to yell out no and shake her off me . The ritual is now passed mutual bonding into a negative one. How can I communicate to her to do biscuits without clawing ?

On changing foods.... Cats eat a bird one day, a lizard the next, a mouse the next, all without tummy issues. .Mine do fine when I switch brands or formulas.

Yeah. I've always provided variety from day to day to keep them from getting bored, finicky or otherwise over reliant on one type of food. I've never run into any issues.

​@@msvenke1 if it's what you have they will eventually eat it when hungry. When we were fostering some of the food was donated and we never had a problem with them eating whatever was offered to them and it was all different kinds. If they ever hesitate I just mix a little wet food with it or some tuna or sardines and that gets their attention. Just like pet beds and toys we just spritz a little catnip spray when we first introduce new ones and they love sniffing and licking and pawing at it

I thought it was something you are doing that you didn’t know was hurting your cat. Not abusing and feeding the cat, brushing them are certainly things you would know hurt your cat.

These types of videos could put some people off getting a cat, making it seem like cats are hard work and you have to walk on eggshells around them. You don't, cats are tough, and a telling off will do them no harm, and sometimes you have to for their own safety, temper that with cuddles and teats, they'll be fine.

Feed the cat, pet the cat, throw something across the room... Pet toys are a joke. Want to get the cat something they will love? Cardboard box. Bottle caps, the plastic ones, make awesome toys. Hair ties... Rubber bands... My cats can't get enough of them.

Also, you might want to roll a piece of aluminum foil into a ball ( doesn’t have to be completely round) better to allow for some irregular shape since when you throw it it will move in a more irregular way, like making right & left turns….. if that makes sense 😊 my cats love it!!!! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

I think one of my ferals was abused by its previous owner , 4 months into a me trying to domesticate , today she growled at me after putting my hand out trying to pet her , I gave her a what for and she understood exactly what I said because she got up and moved afterwards .

I have a question: we have 3, 3 year old cats that that are healthy and happy, but a feral calico kitten came to us with a fractured hip! She’s fine now, but she’s a biter! I’ve tried vinegar on my hands to no avail! Now I just refuse to play with her when she opens up her mouth I just refuse to play! I think she’s “getting” it! We’ve never had a biting cat before!& we’ve had cats 🐈 all our lives!❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊

I loved my son so much. He died on my birthday. Meet their needs. The devotion what they need. Cats are so smart. My cat did not like the cage. He knew my birthday was the next day. When I went to pick him up. He got into the cage. I had been taking him to PetSmart twice for arthritis. Since I am hated by the media people pay people to say and do. This cat of mines was loved. I left him alone with food and water and toys. I came daily. I could tell someone was getting into the home. I often took him to my mom's house. When he got into the cage. I locked it and put the cage on the porch. We left immediately. My smart mouthed sister said what would you do if he locked it. Getting into the cage was 💯 for me. He died the next day on my 59th birthday six months ago. He died of a heart attack. His doctor could have caught this. In the supernatural he comes sparingly.

Of course we should treat our pets well, and not look to deliberately abuse or harm, that's the territory of sadists and psychopaths; but for God's sake, do you afford the children in your life whether in the same household, or contact peripherally with the same consideration, concern, and respect? Protect and nurture children and our youth as first priority. They face challenges now as never before, and are the future!!!!

how bout if the HUMAN finds their once peaceful environment wrecked by the cat? He attacks every night, practically, by latching on with his claws and teeth and I can't get him pried off. How do you suggest i extracate him from my limbs, I swear he's trying to kill me and then have me as prey for dessert.
