I worked in Kitwe for 6 years as an Accountant, from 1970, I really liked Zambia and I was only 24 when I started working there. I also worked in Malawi for 6 months and Zaire for 2 months during this time. I have many happy memories, one of my favourite places was the "Golden Peacock" night club that never got going until after 12pm . Kuanda the president passed a rule that all night clubs should be shut by 9.00 pm, so that was the end of that.

Thank you for the tour! I lived in Kitwe when I was young. I went to Valley View School, and I have many good memories from that school.

Thanks, nice tour. One tip - slower panning around with the camera - got a head ache from the fast panning.

Shame about the Edinburgh hotel, I bought my first Adler typewriter from a shop just underneath it, round the corner was a shop that sold trolls and opposite the hotel was an ice cream kiosk called Eskimo hut
