Thanks for the video. All our cities are nice but they just need to maintain cleanliness. Street vending is what has messed up all our towns & cities. I’m always a fun of Ndola because that was my city & it used to be the best planned city in Zambia before the 1990s when I lived there.

As this video started, I said to myself..I know that Church! Go up a bit with your camera to the right and there should be The Edinburgh Hotel!!....Et Viola!! you did it........turn to the right again walk down and there should be hopefully Le/La Frontiere! ?? This part of the world will always be stamped or tattoed on my heart. As my ex-wife used to say......"Once you have tasted the waters of the Zambezi you will always return" Yes I know that the Kafue runs through Kitwe....on it's way down ........but wonderful memories of a place and people that I was blessed to know. Thanks for posting. Peace from Kaapstad

Kitwe is the city with the second largest population in Zambia. Until 1962 it was the largest and then it was overtaken by Lusaka in 1963...and Lusaka continued to grow at a much faster rate and now days Lusaka has more than three times the population of Kitwe.

Mining belt! I was born in Kitwe, the Copperbelt. The youngest of 4, my father worked as an account for mining company. Early 90s he was given a house, car and travelling benefits. My mother a nurse, she became a lecturer at UTH! My childhood was full of many people, including Indians, East Africans and other southern neighbouring nationalities. Kitwe could have easily been the capital city. But that current government must have had their own agenda!

one thing I have never liked about laterite roads is it makes the place look dustier than it is . But the city itself looks interesting, like 2006

Kitwe the hub of the copperbelt province.Ndola looks better than kitwe infrastructure wise.

Very true

Despite both kitwe and Ndola being in copperbelt ,I think Ndola looks much better compared to kitwe, kitwe has massive population unlike Ndola, but infrastructure wise Ndola is ahead and is well gazetted .

I agree with you on this.
