The Kiwi Dock - as far as compatible battery headstraps are concerned - is the only headstrap that's compatible with the Kiwi Dock. You can use other headstraps, but no other BATTERY HEADSTRAP will be compatible. Additionally, the separate elbow USB C dongle is designed to incorporate a third party non-battery headstrap. The Kiwi Headstrap comes with that already built into it. Sorry, there's too much going on here and the granular details got away from me. Hit me up with any questions.

I have both setups in this video and the BOBOVR one is the best for all the reasons you have stated but here are some other things to bring up. The Kiwi Design dock and straps is great if that is all you need but they failed at providing buttons to turn off the charging which like many other users have stated makes it pretty uncomfortable to use for the long term since you don't know if anything is being over charged. Also BOBOVR used to offer a a dock for the Quest 2 setup that was just like the Kiwi one were you could connect it with a magnetic connector, plus it had a spot in the back to charge your battery. I don't know why they never brought this setup back. I would also like to see BOBOVR release a new case where the new style controllers fit the molding better and perhaps bring back their active audio solution for the Quest 3.

thanks you man! that was the exact review I was looking for ❤ I'll get the bobovr s3 and the original meta stand. now I only need some grips, since bobovr's new grips couldnt keep the controller inside and are now "soldout".. theyll probably fix them right now

I've got the Kiwi strap and dock and am very happy. When I first got my Quest 3 the first thing that was apparent was that I needed a better head strap....I was fine with just the internal battery's time as I don't want to spend more than an hour or two/day on my headset anyway so I'm more than happy with the smaller battery. I haven't tried the Bobbovr strap so I don't know what I'm missing but I find the Kiwi strap very comfortable.

I'm wondering about those two and I can't decide. I saw too many negative opinions about KIWI battery. Its often not charging the meta, or after few uses battery is not charging on itself. But BOBO is much higher price, and I dont know if halo strip is gonna be tigh for fast moving games.

It seems to be the bobovr is gonna grip the head better aswell as looking down having that extra padding lower in the back of the head will make the front cover not pop off as easy. I ordered the bobo but from the stuff I’ve been researching this is the headset to go with. Unless the fan will be overly annoying for you but personally I have a fan going all the time at home I like the extra sound

@@grzesiek9229the halo strap seems to provide more of a tighter well fit. Head strap. It gets the lower part of the back of your head which means better fit not loose great for gaming or just looking around casually and you are gonna want a comfortable headset for newcomers that wanna try your meta quest

Honestly, I think why it always has to be Chinese companies is because American Companies don't want to step into this market yet, or just don't want to. the two top ones I tend to go with because of their quality is Kiwi Design and BoboVR, I recently purchase their B100 battery setup (Headstrap Dock, Chargin Station, 2 Extra Batteries) and they are high quality items and the batteries last forever. I won a Giveaway from Kiwi Design to get their new Quest 3 Battery Door Grips and I couldn't be happier with those, so really depends on what you're looking for, if you're not spending a lot of time in your HMD Kiwi is definitely the way to go to save a bit of money, if you're in your HMD all the time, then BoboVR is where you want to go. Great video and I can't wait to see more.

14:47 yo!!! Yeah multiple sets of grips and head straps were sold under different brand names but were the exact same. It's common due to "drop shipping" where these people are all selling the same products under different branding and they often have never touched the product themselves. They're just earning and burning as fast as they can as a third party seller. One day they might be selling makeup kits, quest 2 accessories the next day, and flashlights the next. Very little of any QA because they're just trying to make fast money and it hurts us all! That's why we need companies like Bobo and kiwi who actually design their own products and want to protect their name

You had to revise it? You hit all the key points. If u like elite straps Kiwi is the way to go and the dock looks sleek. If u want a very comfortable headset, the BOBO VR S3 Pro is perfect and should work with the Meta charging dock. Totally agree that all these should be Made in America but, the Chinese are a step ahead of us…….

KZbin recommends me this right after I get my Kiwi 😂 I loved elite straps on the 2 but was disappointed on the 3. It's definitely BETTER than stock but not the crazy comfort I was expecting. I think it's because I tried it with a squishy foam facial interface on the 2 but my 3 has the stock one. And I was just recommending the Kiwi like a week earlier based on my experience with it on the Q2 😅

Oh. The kiwi dock doesnt work wirh the bobovr s3? My bobovr is on preorder and a month away but i got the kiwi dock already and just because if was pretty. I thought i could just charge via some wires but this elbow connector makes this kind of extra useless I aleady got some mannequin heads i could just ust as stands

You'd have to unplug the battery headstrap and plug in that little elbow every time you wanted to charge the Quest 3.

Not if you tighten it properly. Certainly no more than any other quality strap.

@@nexto2255 you don't have to ask me to respond. You just tighten the knob and make sure it's pulled down to the base of the back of your head. You'll also need to fiddle with the headset itself to make sure it's level and comfortable. If you're concerned that much, then going with Amazon should guarantee returns.

my thought process, if you go with BoboVR air conditioned and comfortable headstrap and 4 hot-swappable batteries and charging dock for the batteries... what do you need an effing RGB dock for?

Well, RGB is a gimmick. But the dock on it's own is still pretty valuable, regardless of who's making it. My controllers and headset are always charged.

I see that you put a lot of info and attention to the charging docks, but as someone who doesn't want to waste or spend too much money, I feel like it's not that necessary to have...? Love the review, by the way, but I feel like kiwi would be a better idea if I want to be sure the headset will not move at all when I move my head and I still want it to be comfortable. I think the price might be a big factor in this too because the kiwi's battery headstrap (not the SCP one) is less than half the price of the BOBOVR one and with the grips, it's almost half the price of the BOBOVR one. The kiwi one is also compatible with more facial interfaces, I haven't found a facial interface that fits well with the BOBOVR S3 pro that doesn't cost too much.... I'm really interested in the S3 pro, but the price is a lot... I'm writing this as someone who doesn't have a quest 3 yet, so i don't know if kiwi might be better to start with and then maybe later upgrade to S3 pro? because I don't know yet what type of headstrap I like the most. And I don't think I will need more than 3h since I will be new to the VR experience (Might be overwhelming at first?) and because of my free time avaliable, but maybe it will be the opposite and because it's new to me, I'll want to use it more...? Thanks for anyone that red this, I'm still hesitating with the kiwi or bobo to start my VR experience...

The kiwi applies to me. I can't play that long in a day. I'm working my way up from 20-30 minutes (disabled). And I love RGB. But, I think the BoboVR looks more appealing to me anyway.

Let's not forget the kkcobvr there head strap and swappable battery system. It's really the only one so far that's even trying to go up against bobovr and the kkcobvr head strap is not only cheaper and also really comfortable. The battery is just as large at 10,000 plus a second battery is 40 bucks not on a sale so cheaper then bobovr all around.

Firstly, this is the first time I've heard of this, but I'd love to try it. Second, I don't know why they advertise an additional 2 to 3 hours when the battery capacity should easily provide an extra 4. Third, this was really about cost, so while this might beat BoboVR if it pulls off the comfort, that's not really what this video was about.

i went boboVR S3 pro w/ the Meta dock as to Kiwi because the dock didn't charge the controllers. I'm ok with the BoboVr headset still hurts my face after a few hours of VR gaming . Maybe I'm doing some thing wrong . Even bought a silicone face cover . Helped a bit but still hurts my face after a while. Another streamer has custom made faceplate but you need Apple. Dont have Apple or know anyone that does :(

I made a video regarding that custom interface. It's not applicable to the BoboVR because it's not pressed tightly against your face. I'm not sure what's going on, but with the BoboVR it should just hover in front of your eyes. My Quest 3 barely touches my face.

Got both, I can’t stand the bobovr S3 design too much contact makes me sweat, (it feels like a full helmet in the summer…the fan is a joke)…kiwi without the strap is what works best for me. Selling my S3 pro just not for me! Also if you make it hear you will pay $500 for it. Cheap labor is what allows to buy these products under $100

I too, am from the family Genae-bankruptus-beggar-bum-dependent-down-and-out-insolvent-lazarus-mendicant-supplicantus-zilch . And I've also bought a few things here in South Africa that are the equivalent of $20 and then I find the same thing online in the US Amazon store for $180 and the item still reads "MADE IN CHINA" on the bottom just like the one here is. So I feel happy about those kind of cheapskate-... I mean, fiscally responsible decisions.

I’m struggling to understand the video, there’s no structure you’re just speaking without a script, maybe you have like 3 points but then it feels like a middle school presentation where you’re trying to pad it out by just saying more words and repeating the same thing, the whole china ramble is useless and I don’t see how it has anything to do with kiwi VS bobovr, like genuinely, china is known for cheap manufacturing and they already have established factories so obviously it’ll be cheaper to produce them there compared to middle of nowhere Ohio where labor laws are different along with the standard of living and cost of gods, ignoring the fact that a random company will have to build their own factory and warehouse to just make vr head straps, you have to start somewhere and the most convenient place to start is the cheapest (while still having good quality). Yes local products are great because they incentivize people to push the economy and then we keep the money within the country which helps with circulation and helps local businesses, but if it will cost me 200$ to get the same head strap here and 89$ if I get it from china, they’re both the same, why do I, the consumer, care? Justify the extra money by giving me something so superior that my jaw drops and I’ll consider it. When local manufacturing gets cheap enough to compete with the likes of the giant factories that are willing to lose some money just to gain a percentage of the market place then we can happily spend the money locally. Some stuff are cheaper to produce locally, some stuff can be made locally within a reasonable price, but having to produce molds and then setup injection plants that can operate at the scale that already established factories can, for example bobovr s3, their Amazon page says they sold 3000 within the last month, that’s tough to compete with. Niche products can be an exception since you don’t need that many people or machines, but when you have to ramp up it’ll cost you, otherwise you can just make your mold and partner with a factory that will do the rest, for less money. I watched this video to know which headstrap I should get, I genuinely don’t know what information I left with, I watched it 2 days ago and again now but I still don’t understand what I watched, please note that you should consider structuring and writing down, even if it’s just a rough draft, of what you want to say and how you want to say it, you could’ve edited the parts where you try to find words since out but you just left it almost like it’s a one take video but that’s not gonna do good in the algorithm which will hurt your channel. Last time I watched the video I didn’t even get through half of it before I left since literally nothing of value was said, your comparison was “they put a little adapter that you don’t know what it is but it’s so good!!” And “bobovr never responded to my affiliate requests”. You said bobovr doesn’t have a dock but then you showed a b-roll of the dock, it’s a charging dock, you’re not meant to have to bother with charging the quest as the batteries are hot swappable, not the biggest fan of that but that’s how it works. Also you’re hitting your desk a lot it’s going through the mic and it’s kinda annoying I suggest getting a shock mount, they come with normal stands or desk clamp stands, I have one clamped to my desk so it’s not directly going to my desk, but it’s best to have it on another desk so it doesn’t even have a chance of getting affected by it, tho that’s totally unnecessary as the shock mount should do 80% of the job and damp the sounds. I’m assuming you don’t have one as the sounds are loud and sudden. Big ramble in one comment, not should’ve made it into separate paragraphs but you get the gist of it, hope it helps

Also you did include the bobovr dock, it’s at 6:52. It’s just a charging dock for the 3 batteries since they’re supposed to be hot swappable, I don’t agree with that being the only option as having an actual dock for the vr with the controllers is much better, preferably one that charges the controllers too, but that’s still their dock that they offer, just not the same idea
