Same here! I remember we were walking up the stairs (my brothers and I) and we were speculating on Zane's origins. We were going upstairs to watch the show. One of my brothers remembered a clip of Blade Runner our dad showed us (the part where Deckard tells Racheal she is a replicant and shows her pictures of her "childhood".) So my brother explained that he speculated that Zane was most likely a robot since he didn't have parents and didn't remember his childhood. I think that's a crazy theory, but then we all settle down on the couch and open the TV. Ninjago starts, and low and behold it's the exact episode where Zane is revealed to be a robot! Absolute insane coincidence.

I miss season 1 Zane. As an autistic person myself I used to relate so much with his character but now in modern Ninjago they just treat him as the smart robot character and a lot of his original charm is just not there anymore. I don’t want to be that one fan who thinks old Ninjago is better because of nostalgia (in fact Ninjago has improved quite a bit in my opinion) but new Zane just feels so dry to watch.

I’ve entered, left, re-entered and left this fandom many times, and even though I might not rejoin the fandom again, this show still holds a special place in my heart. Tbh it hits deeper when you’re older because then you can actually get the jokes/quotes with deeper meaning. I remember being obsessed with this show. And I still love it. I started rewatching it a few days ago and I haven’t skipped the intro once. I also remember my mom quoting Wu once or twice because she sometimes watched with us. It was a quote from somewhere in season 3 but I don’t really remember how it went because I watched the Dutch dub since I’m Dutch. And I can’t find it anywhere on Google so I might edit this comment when I do find it. God there’s no way for me to properly describe how much I loved, love and will always love this show. Edit: I found the quote! It was “If you can’t change your circumstances, change yourself.” It’s from the episode called “The Void”. Also, my older brother and I literally still quote/reference the “Zane you’re squeezing my arm” part regularly to this day.

[MY PERSONAL OPINION] Since season 10, I don't know why but I don't enjoy Ninjago as much as I did. It became like a random show to me, except the "Oh no is Cole dying?!" moment, everything in it was pretty bad. And then, the other seasons... Uhh... It really looks like the writers lost inspiration... Also, I really liked how season 12 started but the End was so deceiving. I was so mad when they changed the animation style (or at least the character and environment style) in season 8... Every seasons before are Nostalgia and my childhood for me. Zane's secret, Jay and Nya's weird love, Wu becoming an old man, the weird elements system thingy that I could not understand as a child, Cole's phantom thingy... It was so cool.

I don’t mind the new styles. In fact i love it. I always thought nya’s red and black scheme looked weird on her and prefer the new cohesive design. Lloyd’s hair and voice was a bit annoying but definitely better after the reboot. Everyone else was fine before and fine now. But yeah i agree with you on the story that some of it felt random. The first two reboot seasons were great but then it got weird and season 13 felt like filler but 14 is where it got good again.

As a girl who watched this show when it first came out despite it being targeted for boys, I absoloutley loved it and still watch it to this day! I agree, I love Zane so much, he's my favourite character on the show (smart, logical, kind, caring, adorable, analytical, mature, selfless, level headed, methodical and just plain awesome). Always standing for peace, freedom and courage and always protecting those who cannot protect themselves. He was a robot but knew how to be a better human being than all the others. Those two episodes were also very emotional too.

When Kai said that his destiny wasn't to be the green ninja, but to protect the green ninja, and it turns out that Lloyd was the green ninja, it blew my mind when I was a kid! Lloyd and Kai's friendship was so brotherly and I loved watching it. Especially in season 5 Kai becomes a big brother character to Lloyd, it warmed my heart. Ninjago was my childhood.

i also went to legoland when i was very young, like, very young (3yo), it was most of all for my brother, he went back to legoland when he was older, without me sadly, i remember being very depressed for a looong time, i had a huge cruch on kai, on my 7th birthday, i even had a kai suite on, i still have the picture, then for a long time i stopped with lego ninjago, and now i'm back in the business, i did get for my 13th birthday (3days ago) a new ninjagoset, it is awesome.

As an 18 year old (I'm finally 18 now, my birthday was Jul. 20). This show was everything to me as a child, especially the parts where Zane finds out he's a Nindroid, Garmadon sacrificing himself to the Cursed Realm, Lloyd being possessed by Morro (my favorite season to be honest, Morro was a good villain and good plot, very emo and dramatic too) I'm very glad that I still watch this show to this day.

Honestly this show, despite going on for 10 years and 14 seasons straight, it’s barely dipped in quality. Modern seasons, even with the movie designs are incredible. Seriously, if you haven’t watched this show I’d highly recommend binging it. (plus the soundtrack is legit amazing like holy shit it shouldn’t be that good)

Damn. I completely forgot how good this show was. Yeah, there were some scenes that were cheesy and dumb, and had some pretty stupid humor. However, there were times where it got really emotional. It makes the characters down to Earth, and reminds you that they're human. Well, "human". Zane is an exception, but he's human enough.
