@tonyreaudio6579 No, unfortunately, those days are gone. The 80s were wild. The scene will never be matched again. The music, the party scene, the concerts, and the money that was made in the industry were phenomenal. Today, tours are being canceled because of the cost and not enough profits involved. Back then, we bought the whole album and not just a song or two off the web. It's gone it'll never be like that again.

As far as mainstream music goes, you are absolutely right. Mainstream (chart topping) rock at that time actually took talent to create and the songs often had some sort of meaning or soul. Also, even popular groups didn't try to be so formulaic. I'd also include some mainstream rock from the early 90's. By '94 or '95 mainstream radio (rock radio) started going down fast.

80s kids also had it worse than future generations in many ways. Hell, I had to dig through an encyclopedia to learn anything. Education is way more fun and interesting these days. I’m going to tell you a true story. In March of 2010 I moved from California to Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. My dad lived there. I had never been there before. I didn’t know anyone. I was totally alone and had to start from the bottom. I walked from my dad’s house two blocks to the local music store. It was called RRR Guitar. I walked inside and said “hi my name is Jason. I’m a recording artist from San Francisco.” The guy said”hi Mr recording artist I’m Randy and my band is looking for a singer”. He became my best friend. Steve Whiteman (Kix vocalist) gave singing lessons there. They were incredibly nice cool guys. I had to make myself get out there and meet people. I’m so glad I did. There’s always someone to talk to and you never know who you might become friends with.

Last night was the 'Walking Away Farewell Show' at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. September 17, 2023, the dirty boys from the underground said goodbye to their fans. :( We had lawn seats, they were all we could get, and we sat in the rain and sang out hearts out with them. I'm 57, Kix has been part of my life for forever ... it's like losing an arm. But they were in fantastic form and put on a hell of a show! Thank you, Kix, for all your years of rocking hard! You WILL be missed!

Great rock song. Listened all the time to this kinda music back in the 80’s. I still listen to it, nothing quite like it. So grateful to have grown up in 60’s and 70’s and right into the 80’s. Best times ever..😊😊😊

Love this song. It has been an inspiration to me not to go to the dark side. The dark side meaning calling it quits. Beautiful song. Thank you Kix and more than anyone Jesus!❤

This song came out when I was 14. I felt like they were talking to me, since my life was pretty horrible. When I was at my worst, and everything seemed worthless, I would listen to this song, and it seemed like they were talking to me all over again. We need more music like this.

We did our homework right after school if we weren't on a school sports team so we could get into the local woods and creeks to have beebee gun wars go swimming and otherwise just have fun and mess about in our woods and creeks. Kids these days will never know that type of freedom, sadly.

I will never forget hearing this during the concert after the filming of Midnight Dynamite. I knew then, even before it was released, that this song was phenomenal. It was filmed at my university, and I spent every minute that I wasn't in class that day on the concert floor, hanging out with band members and other students, and just totally overwhelmed with excitement. KIX is priceless.

That's one thing I can say about the generation I grew up in. We had the best music, the best cars. We didn't have cell phones, no computers. Plus our generation we had girls that were girls, not boys wanting to be girls and vise versa. This generation of kids growing up now have no idea what the hell they are.
