the translation did not do the ending justice imo, it should have been: "if you decide to die tomorrow, i will die with you, if you decide to live tomorrow, i will make sure i am alive for you" this is why shinobu and araragi's relationship is so well written.

No, it's not. Those are good translations. One to one even. The translations you have given are the ones further away than what Araragi is saying. Maybe it works well if you want it to be more dramatic, but it's certainly not a "should".

I've had the same reaction as Teeaboo when I finished the movies. Reading Kizu is much different than watching it, but regardless, the story of Araragi and Kiss-Shot is one of tragic irony. One wanting to die, and one not wanting to kill them, it's just like the finishing quote Araragi says, they hurt each other, and are the only ones to mend the wounds they give each other. Not to mention the song that plays when the credits roll is so fitting, the voice being fitting for more of a happy or uplifting song, but the lyrics and the way they sing just makes you feel melancholy. If you were to only watch Kizu and none of the other seasons, you'd think they'd be doomed to unhappiness.

1:15:34 About this translation "kesshite ienai" is translated as "can't talk" or "never speak". However, in the original novel it is "can't heal". These are the same characters as written in hiragana. It's a word game.
