As an arcade technician I've had to do the throwing out of arcade games, some are harder to throw out than others. I felt really bad about having to junk a Time Crisis 4 cabinet, also felt bad about the pair of Sega Rally games. Not too sad to see the old skee ball games go, though.

Quick story, 25 year arcade tech, got a job working for namco arcade as service tech. DDR ws kinda dying at the location, due to horrible pad conditions. First week on the job, cleaned and re-did all the controls, and lights, and it became the hotspot for DDR again.

I would absolutely LOVE to buy an arcade cab for PIU. I played PIU:Exceed and PIU:NX from 13-18. My highest difficulty ranking was in the low 20's. I remember being so ecstatic that I could FINALLY get onto the leaderboards on the cabinets. Nightmare difficulties are insanely fun, but as I've gotten older and since PIU is WAY more niche than DDR (in the states) I've had to just go with a pad I got overseas. It's good ENOUGH, but for $600 I really wish there was more thought put into some of it's features (like they wanted a TON of money for a bar, but I'm good on that). I can't be too mad since the game itself is really fun. This is a super cool video since PIU is impossible to get on anything that isn't arcade hardware (minus STEP F2) and I wish they would do another home console version or something

Absolutely love your videos and this one is very enjoyable, it's fun to just listen to this adventure of restoring the dance pad! A tip for future restoration if you ever do it again, I do this for my old consoles when they get really nasty: Use strong chemicals. There's only so much soap and scraping can do alone, but strong cleaning chemicals, and even basic things such as rubbing alcohol (Which rn is expensive since pandamic still going) does a much better job at getting any dirt out, even decades old crust. My PSone was legit a grayish brown because of the crust of time, just by using rubbing alcohol alone it return to a light gray, and became its normal colours when I brought in strong cleaning products. Just a tip I thought could help in the future!
