I can remember when jocks watched the meters and diligently rode the faders for levels as seen here and not just hoped Optimod would make it right ;-) True pro. True style. Godspeed Jo Jo!

JoJo TRULY cares about his job! And doesn't read from a damn card! This is what broadcasting SHOULD be! And I'm trying to learn that now, as I'm in the business.

I also crossed paths with JoJo while working for Sunny Joe White in Boston. JoJo is the very best pure CHR air-talent ever......EVER. I remember standing outside the control room in complete amazement just watching his masterful work.

A great high-energy jock, whom I first heard in Birmingham, Alabama, when he was on WSGN as "Amaysa" Kincaid. He's one of the best.

Now this is a Real Kick ass on air Jock. Great board skills and timing. Plus he's fun to listen to. This is the primary reason why Radio stations are Dead Today because they lack the Energy and Entertainment of the on Air Jock..
@HitsTownUSA13 жыл бұрын
I don't know the inside story but he came and went on KFRC a few years ago..He really brought alot of energy to KFRC (when most of the other jocks were boring) . I was doing some AM DXing in the late 80's and I'd pick up Q-106 on AM 600 at night all the way up in San Francisco.

Seems like he's one of these 'hyper' types! All that energy... bet his feet are peddling the generator that powers the station!

All of the music, ads, station ID's are all on a log sheet with their times (length). If something was new, you'd listen to the ending to know when to launch the next song or commercial. His style is amazing

Good jocks know the music inside and out but there is also a digital clock built into his board that starts counting up when the cart start button is pressed. The carts have the "talk-up" time noted on the label, i.e.: 'YOUR SONG - ELTON JOHN 3:45 :09 FADES @ 3:39 Sometimes, just for fun, we'd switch labels.
@donmartin57425 жыл бұрын
You're right about digital clocks and talk up time on the cart label....but good jocks didn't really need it . I worked with Kincaid at WSGN "The Big 610". His name then was Amaisa Kincaid....and he was that good ...even back then. I worked 3 to 6 P and he followed at 6 to 10P. My air name was Don Martin.
