These jocks are as much of a performer as the musicians they are promoting.

I was so happy in the early part of the century when XM (it wasn’t Sirius at the time) picked up 700 WLW. All of a sudden I could have The Big One wherever I was in North America. Then one day it was just unceremoniously dropped. Oh well, sat radio has sort of come and gone. It’s not nearly as cool as it used to be. Podcasts rule now.

Sorry to hear he passed away, back in the late 90s he was a boss here in Dallas. Driving his Viper and Durango around town, hitting the clubs and ballin with his homies. He had it all covered, even that funny time he left the station going on dead air for like over five mins because he went to go pee and he had gotten locked out because someone had changed the access code to get back into the studio. LOL but he busted the door down and hurt his arm in the process to get the show back on the air. Dedication. RIP Tony.

I remember they came to Gilroy right before the Garlic festival in 1986 when I was 10, I went to see them in person with my friend Darren on our bicycles, to the McDonald’s on 10th street, where they had 1/2 a ton of garlic literally dumped in the parking lot. They did a whole segment on us, after I told them my friend was born on the same exact day Elvis died. It was so cool. RIP Bill

I had the fortune of spending some personal time with Big Ron O'Brien. He was a very sweet, smart and fun guy to hang out with. He was great help to me when I started the GayRadio program on KWIZ 96.7 FM Orange County / Los Angeles in 1994.

This man's talent is extraordinary. His timing is flawless, seamlessly integrating the weekend vibe with crucial station information, such as contest details and music format. It's remarkable how he conveys so much in such a short time, showcasing his prowess as a true entertainer. He makes it look effortless, simply enjoying himself while delivering top-tier content. The music selection is also spot on, perfectly capturing the atmosphere the station aims to create as the weekend approaches. It's an absolute joy to listen to. This is a masterclass in the art of less is more.
