I remember this and Longwater Gulch as some of my favorite trails. Did solo rig with a buddy of mine on our way to Moab from the Midwest. Camped at the river (2003) and then crossed the next morning. It was about as deep as I'd like to cross (almost to headlights in May) but went through just fine. Just had to extract the seat cushion from my bottom when back on dry land. Moguls etc. were awesome. Funny thing, I disconnected my sway bar before this trail and ended up ripping my CV boot because I didn't secure the links! Had to fix in Moab.... Once again, great content! Lighting the off-road fire in my soul again!

I love the video. Thank you. We just found an unrepairable break down on my wife's car (subframe rust...pretty bad). So, we are looking at the Cherokee trail hawk. It would be enough for us (well her. I want a built Wrangler lol). It appears the Cherokee holds it's own.
@coloradomallcrawlers
@coloradomallcrawlers 4 жыл бұрын
It definitely does! You’ll like the one I’m finishing up now (it’ll be available later today) as I think the Cherokee may have had the easiest time (renegades, wranglers, and Cherokees all participated). I’ve also driven Sean’s KL (the grey one) and really liked it! It smooths out the trail nicely! I have one coming where the Cherokee didn’t make one tiny part and the wranglers did, but I think Zach (black KL 3in lift) would have made it and Sean (2in lift currently) was really close. We’ll likely come back and try it again later. Thanks for watching and enjoy that Cherokee!

Wow another awesome video for Part 2! I always have so much to say after watching one of these and I feel like I forget half of what I wanted to say by the end 😭 First off I loved all the camera angles, noticed you using your phone at one point but overall the camera quality was soo good even on the phone footage! Also was noticing the suspension especially on the trail guide’s van and it was really putting in the work. You always mention the vehicles as incredible machines, and you’re absolutely right! And then there were all the tough spots where I’m almost certain you guys might have gotten some gnarly scrapes. I hope that it didn’t cause too much damage if any 😭 In terms of feedback on improving, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s not something I usually find myself watching but you definitely make it interesting and I always learn something new. The guide itself I’m sure comes in extremely handy for those looking at trying the trail. Keep it up and I’m definitely looking forward to part 3 🙌🏻

Dude, thanks so much! Awesome feedback! Yeah, I upgraded to the iPhone 11 just because the video performance was improved so much. The GoPros are great, but I feel like I’m getting better footage from the phone. Still, once money isn’t tight anymore, I’ll look for a dedicated video camera... it’s just finding the right specs for a portable off roading camera is tough. No damage to any of the Jeeps... we have skid plates and rock rails. They’re also designed to take the bumps experienced. Now if I wheeled it with a lot of throttle into the rock obstacle, that could be a problem. Thanks so much for the feedback and support! I’ll likely be studying your amazing camera work to bring it into my videos 😉
@Alizoid
@Alizoid 4 жыл бұрын
Dewie’s Colorado Hahah I’d say don’t even bother getting a dedicated video camera because the quality already looks like it. But if you are interested in one I’d recommend the Nikon Z6. Great 4K and slow motion features. And phew that’s a relief to hear with respect to the skid plates! Lol if you need any advice on camera work feel free to give me a shout 👊🏻

Alizoid I’ll look that one up! There’s a lot I need right now... I edit on a $350 iPad 😬, I’m having some trouble rendering these videos so I might need to upgrade that next! Oh, I definitely might need to talk filming... yours is top notch!
@Alizoid
@Alizoid 4 жыл бұрын
Dewie’s Colorado Lol editing itself is a process and a constant learning curve. I honestly never would have thought you edited that on an iPad 😭👏🏻 But you can always look up Davinci Resolve which has a free version that you can use on a computer. That should definitely help.
@coloradomallcrawlers
@coloradomallcrawlers 4 жыл бұрын
Alizoid I use to use Adobe Premiere for mid south Jeep club videos, but my Mac is so old now that I just use it to back up all these files to a hard drive. It definitely can’t handle 4K. But, I’m LOVING iPad editing, theoretically I think I could put a rough edit together on the trail while camping. That’d be so much fun to show and get real time feedback! As of right now, I definitely encounter issues that delays these occasionally... I hope an iPad Pro with 1TB would fix that, but it’s a lot of money to put out on a hopefully it’ll work.

Great video as always man. @coloradomallcrawlers 4 жыл бұрын
Nick’s Toyota is awesome especially with the way he pushes it! It’s definitely a fun trail. I’d start on Longwater & Metberry and if those went well, then Hackett might be doable. The renegade I wheeled with on Sunday said he was able to get up Hackett rock and honestly that was my only concern for him on the trail. The small size of the renegade and your ranger would be advantageous for a lot of this trail like what Kerry said about mine 😂. Thanks for the support buddy!

Dewie’s Colorado ya we will see maybe I’ll get to do those trails sometime just hard for me to go that far with not knowing the trails or having anyone with me so tell get a bumper and a winch I am for sure limited. Ya that’s true I have a single cab short bed so I am pretty short so to speak so I can really move around the trail which has its perks lol. @@Anthony_Adventures here is the thing though. We are trying to show the hardest ways through each trail, because that also makes good videos , but there are a lot of ways you can work through trails smartly taking advantage of some of the bypasses , where you can still get to enjoy the trail even if you don't take the most extreme lines. And getting the chance to see some of the views we get to see are totally worth working through them in whatever way works best for you :)

Dewie’s Colorado ya I agree just gotta get out there and see what can do if not nothing wrong with turning around. But ya the harder stuff is always what people like to watch for sure. That’s why it sucks for people like me with budget builds and stuff cuz nobody wants to do the easier trails or anything because all the newer vehicles are so capable that it isn’t fun to watch or fun to drive and all that stuff so.

@coloradomallcrawlers
@coloradomallcrawlers 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy! Yeah, I don’t blame anyone for crossing (if they truly don’t know) as there isn’t any signs and it’s part of the actual trail. I personally think it’s the anti-OHV group pulling the signs so they can use that against us. That may just be me hoping it’s them and not our own people. We really just need the loop restored as a directional loop as this would decrease the environmental impact while still bringing in money to both Teller and Park Counties. Thanks for watching! Getting better man! I'm super jealous of the trails you guys have access to! That poor taco... Fearless Trailhawk I love Nick’s Taco and the way he wheels it (that’s why it’s the thumbnail), but Sean and I went back to film as I didn’t have the shots I need for a trail guide. Nick’s Tacoma is in a lot of my GoPro footage as day 1 is where I filmed my trail footage and he was in front of me a lot. I had GoPro footage of Sean from that day (he was behind me) but didn’t use it. Plus my GoPro footage wasn’t very good anyway as I didn’t have a polarizer then. Sean and I just know how to film together, but we do have the Android to iPhone sharing issues. However, I do appreciate the feedback and insight! Also, come wheel with us!
