Hearing this song for the first time on a Punk-o-rama compilation as a teenager changed my life.

For the non-German viewers: Graffin sends this one out to "Rockpalast" (engl.: Rock palace) which was (and in a different way still is) one of the most influental German television programs to feature live performances of all sorts of rock musicians often having their own live events. Especially in the 80s when they occasionally held their own events it was THE show to watch for what was happening in rock music. Rockpalast is still around these days even though they "just" film regular concerts and festivals.

This song was at it's best live when Brooks was on drums. He makes that intro so dramatic, and the way he frames up Hetson's solo is epic!
@AlmostaFlipinSkater Жыл бұрын
And Brooks at the end!! Brooks goes even more like a human machine and just destroys. Brooks was the most talented drummer in Bad Religion. Miss him, and Chaos From Within etc only are less quality simply by Brooks’s absence

Like a rock, like a planet Like a fucking atom bomb I'll remain unperturbed By the joy and the madness That I encounter everywhere I turn I've seen it all along In books and magazines Like a twitch before dying Like a pornographic sea There's a flower behind the window There's an ugly laughing man Like a hummingbird in silence Like the blood on my door It's the generator Oh yeah, oh yeah Like the blood on my door Wash me clean and I will run Until I reach the shore I've known it all along Like the bone under my skin Like actors in a photograph Like paper in the wind There's a hammer by the window There's a knife on the floor Like turbines in darkness Like the blood on my door It's the generator Oh yeah, oh yeah Like the blood on my door Wash me clean and I will run Until I reach the shore

My one is the 1.000th like here. :) And for sure they deserve much more. Such a timeless music, I'm always keen to listen to their songs. It is so frank, dynamic, reliable piece of music. I suppose they are yet one of those underrated bands of our time...
