I use my RevAir weekly on highest heat and tension and my (fine) curls always bounce right back. Absolutely zero damage. I love that thing. The only downside I can see is I’m sort of getting addicted to the blowout look and feel. When my hair gets back down past tailbone length, I will probably go down to using it monthly.

I had to deep dive because we need context! Ms Dun has had 3 big chops from 2013-2020. She admitted that she has a trend of damaging her hair about every 2 years, by either coloring it or excessive heat. In the time leading up to her experience with the revair, there was already thinning and loss of curl integrity present. She wore and continues to wear wigs the majority of the time, and instals with heat, hairspray and a wig cap baked together under a hooded dryer. Her wash day includes a cowash, curl cream, castor oil, olive oil and aloe vera and the frequency is unclear. On her first documented trial of the revair in August 2020 she used it on dry hair without a heat protectant. Her hair in the video seen here is in June 2021, and it looks quite similar to her hair prior to August 2020 in a twist out.

I want the Revair so bad! I’ve seen a lot of women with long hair that use it on KZbin. I use the revlon brush blow dryer right now, it rips my hair out when I use it so I no longer use it. I want the Revair because I no longer want to use a brush or comb to my hair to keep the tension needed to dry it. It causes breakage on my hair. I’ve never gotten heat damage on my hair but I have gotten breakage. I don’t care how much it costs, I’m saving up to get it! ❤

The revair is amazing mainly for the cool setting with the suction that is best stretch I could ever achieve with cool air. The other 2 settings are a bonus if you ever want to have a blowout look without raking a blow dryer brush or comb through it. I have found that using the setting on highest heat which is 2 it made my hair feel dryer and less hydrated so I dropped back down to 1. But overall I was on a no heat journey already and would absolutely promote this especially for the cool setting because it literally seals in the moisture and that shine is unbelievable

I’m natural and have medium high density fine strands. I love my Revair ALOT. I blow dry or use hooded dryer several times a month so the heat doesn’t bother me. But you are right in that heat is heat…..I use mine to stretch only then proceed to add a twist product such as foam or cream etc. then I air dry from there. I am a newer subbie and really enjoy your content, you exude such a pleasant and positive vibe.l which matches your outer beauty. Thank you❤

I have the newer version of the RevAir and absolutely love it! I find other dryers dry the surface of my hair but the core still has a lot of moisture so I usually have to let my hair dry for another 24 hours after the blowdry if I want a silk press. The RevAir does a great job of drying my hair to the core so I can often silk press the same day. The majority of the time I just wear my hair blow dried, I only silk press about 2 - 3 times a year

As someone who is learning to use various blowout tools, one thing I dislike is the pulling sensation(as in anything that will cause tension on my neck). I'm not tender-headed, but I frequently suffer from migraines, which I have even been prescribed medication for by my doctor. The Revair is such a worthwhile investment. Usually, when I encounter high-priced items that resemble products from familiar brands (no shade to Dyson), I don't see the value in them. However, the Revair is the only product that truly catches my eye, and it makes sense in the end. As soon as I saved up to buy one, a new model was released, which felt like a win-win situation. I love this product, and it consistently gives me great results each time I use it.

Great content as always!😊💜 Like you, I had a similar experience with my RevAir. I was not particularly fond of the initial results. I later learned that my hair was too wet, I applied too much product, and used the highest heat setting. Through trial-and-error, I have learned to use my RevAir on the medium (not high) heat setting and tension 7 for optimal results. I also only use it once a month to stretch my 4c, fine, high density, mid-back length hair during my loose hair wash.

Revair has been a godsend for me. I now blowout my hair every 1-3 weeks when I wash, whether I'm going to braid it in a couple of big cornrows, do a twistout with mousse, or flat iron it straight. I always start by spending just 20 mins. getting my hair stretched and dry with the Revair. My hair is longer than it's ever been aside from when I had dreadlocks. I use high heat and suction 4 and only do about a dozen sections on my entire head.

I’ve seen this and several other videos of people with breakage and heat damage from revair. And even more concerning, one of my favorite professional cosmetologists here on KZbin does not recommend revair. I was very saddened by this and also scared because I’ve had mine over a year. After consistently using it I did have to do a major chop but honestly I attribute my damage to internal factors and neglecting my hair. (Skipping trims and not moisturizing frequently enough) at this point , idk what to do. It is encouraging to watch your journey because your hair is beautiful and I haven’t seen any issue with you using the revair. However ,. .. my routine is not even half as good as yours so .. I just don’t know! At this point I have put mine away in the closet and the only heat I’m using is under the hooded dryer. Working on getting my overall health and routines together and praying for the best. 🩶🩶🩶

I'm having a hard time believing that the revair caused DunsBeautifulPeople's hair to look like that. To me it looks like she tried to texlax her hair and it came out badly and she figured she could blame the revair without revealing that she actually put chemicals in her hair. OOH! A transparent revair would be SO cool! I do agree that weekly use of the revair (on the heat setting, I don't think the cool would harm anything) is probably a bit excessive. (I have a revair, I've used it properly for several years now, flatironed on top of that a few times, and have NOT experienced any heat damage whatsoever. MY hair is actually blow-dried right now, and I accidently got it a little bit wet, and it start to revert instantly. Also, the heat from the revair doesn't need a tonne of heat protectant.)

Thanks for the information. I just know as black ppl we never had a problem with retaining length with your standard blow dryer and have been using them with no problem. The price tag is not worth it when a normal $30 blow dryer and paddle brush can give you the same healthy results. Black hair is not different or weaker than any other ethnicity and i hate that companies talk down on our hair and claim that it can only be saved with their products. We just need to go back to the basics when it comes to our hair and stop running to products or "new innovative" tools to fix it.

I remain sceptical of her claims. Heat can cause some damage no matter what you use but you can limit it by using certain methods and techniques but also combing can damage hair, brushing also, certain hairstyles etc etc etc. Many people use that particular hairdryer and by using due care and attention they limit the damage to their hair.

I want to counter what people are calling 'heat damage', which seems to be characterised by 'loss of curl pattern' which as far as I'm concerned is not something to be concerned about and requires no special intervention if there is no breakge. Just keep pampering your hair as you typically would and do your periodic deep conditioning and protein treatments. The constant pathologising of afro hair needs to stop. If people can cope with highlight on permanent dye on bleach with weekly heat applied why are black people crying about a little texture change in some tiny areas of their head? If you don't aesthetically like the looser curl pattern pieces and there is breakage that's completely different but being shamed by the internet that looser curl pattern is damage while seeing no characteristics of damage is wild to me.

90 percent of the cases of heat damage are human error, and even for experienced people it is easy to make a mistake. I always recommend to people that they test heat at different degrees and/or low medium high settings on their saved shed hairs so that they know the exact degree that will damage their hair. My hair flat irons beautifully at 395 with no damage, but if I go to 400 my curls are destroyed, so it can literally be the difference between 5 degrees. New tools always have a learning curve so it's best to test all the settings and go slowly before we use them on our whole heads 🙂

I have a Revair and it works…but not for me. I have a texture of hair where my roots not only need to be dried well but it needs to be stretched well or it will knot up on itself and then I cant part my hair. The Revair just doesn’t do that for my roots - a traditional blow dryer works best. But for the rest of my hair - works lovely.

Any heat especially if applied regularly could potentially change the hair structure, ie change the hair’s texture or curl pattern. People must also consider their own hair type and texture. Fine thin strands as opposed to thicker strands, the overall health of the hair, other styling tools used, products used, etc. The doctor did great until she said rev air eliminates heat damage. 3:17 Using any heat is a risk and making an exclusionary or absolute statement like that is irresponsible and crosses into a very gray area in advertising. There are people who will accept that as an absolute truth and not consider all the other variables. Rev Air when used properly definitely has a far less chance of causing heat damage than other styling tools.

Yeah I don’t think it would work for me. I have really long fine hair and I actually need the comb attachment on a blow dryer to help detangle my hair.

I heard influencerrs make 25%-650% commission on Revair. There are cheaper blow dryers like Conair Silverbird for $30 that are better than Revair or Babyliss for a midpriced dryer. Revair blows up the cuticles not down to close the cuticles. Over time it will weaken the hair shaft. I'm a cosmetologist and I have seen what it does because I bought one. It's collecting dust in my closet. I recommend affordable & better blow dryers to my clients. I'm not telling anyone not to buy it.

@@AqsoulXI have a 8 yr old daughter that I have been following natural KZbin practices. Her hair looked so healthy, it is super full and long. I watched some of Cyndolls videos and decided to straighten my daughters hair last summer and she had sooooo much shaft damage that I’m still cutting her hair to get rid of all splits up her shaft. And realized that I also big chopped a few times due to my hair not flourishing during those 8 years. Cyndoll was not lying. I’ve since been using her techniques, detangling on dry hair with just oil, washing during our scalp turnover, setting the bonds with a blow dryer, scientific brushing. Our hair is flourishing!!!!! I know her approach isn’t as friendly or calming but she is speaking knowledge.

Silicone isn't natural. I use almond oil or Grapeseed oil as a natural heat protectant. I only use medium heat when I blow dry & no heat damage. A medium heat gives me the stretch I'm looking for. I don't do bone straight styles, so no need for high heat for my Coils. 👍🏾 Thanks for sharing....

@@truthserum4life101 Silicon is from silica it's called synthetic because of the form it is processed into, typically from crystalline to liquid. The hair is also dead, use what suit it. I for one LOVE silicone.

Silicon is WONDERFUL, it's a gift to hair technology. I have pure dimethicone and cyclomethicone and add them to my hair products with no silicones in the original formulation and the upgrade is CRAZY. The amount of hair loss I have had since using silicone is also a marvel. I detangle and there is barely any hair coming out. I'll never go back to non-silicone products. Silicones are a necessity for afro hair, as far as I'm concerned. The anti-silicone brigade can rarely share negative experiences they've had with silicone, they're just repeating the propaganda. Get you some silicone then come back and tell me how good you think grapeseed and almond oil are for slip, follicle filling and smoothing. Oils and silicones have different roles.
