Watching this makes me so happy, but also makes me want to cry. We were so spoiled in the ‘90s. We truly lived the culture and music, so much so that we would’ve never thought that things would have deteriorated to what we have now today. This was one of the greatest times to have been alive. The last premiere era of Black culture and entertainment.

Your comment doesn't make any sense. This MTV special was filmed & released in early 1999 (I saw it when it first aired), & Foxy was not only more successful than Kim at the time (Her first album had sold almost 3 million copies worldwide, The Firm album sold 1.5 mil, she had several Gold & Platinum singles, some endorsements, & was even in a movie before Kim), but she was a fixture on MTV. So basically, it made perfect sense to have her on the show. Foxy gets so much unwarranted hate online.

Lol even 8yrs later Foxy still will forever be relevant, however please know the correct numbers in sales cuz she did out sell Kim first weeks in sales. However Lil Kim surpassed those numbers by the millions on each & every album. I love Foxy but Kim is the Queen 👸🏽

I think that your perception is off regarding the remark you quoted from Mary. I agree that Foxy clearly looked bothered by the statement because maybe it applied to her in one way or another, but I do not think that it was Mary's intentions at all to shade anyone. I believe Mary was speaking about the music industry in general. Also, I don't think Salt nor Missy reacted how they did because they thought Mary was talking about Foxy at all. I think Mary had been talking for a while about the issues of having/ or not having self esteem and it was kind of a lot to take in for each of them. I will say that Foxy's face did look as though she suspected that Mary was subliminally dissing her though, rather that was the case or not. That's one of the battles of being in the public eye, you constantly have to deal with the public's perception!

Her face already looked that way before Mary even said that y'all reach too much. That's just her resting bitch face.. Foxy didn't need to sleep with anybody to get a record. She was big in the underground scene doing talent shows and lyricist lounge. Had one of the biggest rap bids in hip-hop history.Puffy, la Reid and def jam all fighting to sign her. it was awkward because Mary and Missy are friends with lil kim and kim and foxy were beefin at the time. So they didn't care for foxy. They were standoffish with (Cheryl) Salt because Peppa(Sandy) got into a fight with mary j over treach and is said to have beat mary up lol. so yeah...mary was salty and missy was quiet because she was uncomfortable lol

I truly think it should of been Lil Kim,Mary j bilge ,Missy Elliott and Aaliyah. Not necessarily Foxy Brown; even though she dominant most of the interview but she just don't look right with the other women...I think Missy would of had more to say if Lil kim&Aaliyah was there because she was closer to both of them including Mary j bilge. Foxy Brown tired to literally take over the interview and wanted to gain the limelight.

Well she didn't have to try hard as Foxy is way smarter than all 3 combined. The awkwardness was just from Mary and Missy being Kim's lovers.

So like, I think it’s important to note how professional 3 of these women are. Not saying Foxy wasn’t, but you could def tell she wanted to bring beef and SPECIFIC issues into the conversation, and Mary, Miss and Salt were NOT havin it. Fox was too young to be here imo.

Lil Kim was invisible at that interview only for one reason in the early 90s people wasn’t really feeling little Kim because of her sexual image Plus her and foxy was beefing majorly behind the scenes also at the time Lil Kim then I have no song on the pop Billboard charts unlike missy Mary J Salt-N-Pepa but foxy did hot spot you can tell that everybody looked uncomfortable because they’re saying year foxy Brown put out a dis track dissing Missy & foxy never care for Salt because she had a friendship with pepa You can tell everybody seem extremely uncomfortable in there and of you and it was major shade being thrown because Missy and salt didn’t really care for foxy! Fox was also pissed because she was kicked off of ladies night and replace with Angie Martinez I was another bad blood because Missy and Kim has something to do with it is sad because I love Kim and I feel like the interview would’ve been more comfortable and more fun if she was there

Ron Crowell - How do you know that Missy and Salt did not really like Foxy and vice versus? Did Foxy have issues with Pepa?

Carib Elias - Cool! I know that Lil Kim wanted Salt N Pepa in her video. Only Salt and DJ Spinderella were in the GET MONEY video as Pepa was filming a movie at that time. It would have been nice of all these female rappers got along. Imagine Salt N Pepa, Lil Kim, Missy, Queen Pen, Monie Love, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Foxy, etc. in one video. In Lil Kim’s LADIES NIGHT music video, Salt N Pepa were absent and the only thing I can think of is that during that time, Salt N Pepa were touring their BRAND NEW album, because I am sure that Lil Kim would have had them on the song or at least in the video.
