Dragon Amy in the episode Klaus sobered up bc he thought the world is gonna end. He sobered up bc he wanted to see Dave one last time. So he sobered up and had Vietnam war flashbacks so he blanked out on the floor. He wakes up and sees that he was able to conjure Dave but in the end it never happened because five turned back time

Klaus can see and talk to dead people but only if he is sober, so he has spent years taking drugs because he's terrified of his power, but he wanted to see Dave again so he went through severe withdrawal and summoned Dave's ghost before the world ended, but Five altered the timeline to try to prevent the end of the world, and in the new reality Klaus wasn't able to summon Dave's ghost.
