I honestly don't understand why so many people think that Klaus is a bad person and think he's a monster. They act like they have to believe he's a monster and a horrible brother and son, but it's what they choose to believe. Klaus is a really loving and caring father, son, and brother but the more he loses is the more he falls apart and loses self control. He does everything out of love and care. He's never really had a real father to raise him properly so that throws him off the edge anytime his father comes around or is brought up. In Vampire Diaries, they make Klaus seem so evil and harmful but he really isn't. A lot of people don't know the real story. I mean c'mon. Klaus never had a real father, his brother, sister, and mother of his child wouldn't let him see her. Also, in Originals and Vampire Diaries, Klaus feels second. It's like sometimes Rebekah gives up on Klaus and she's never fighting with Elijah, only Klaus. Even though Klaus was forbidden to see Hope, he still very much loved and cared for her and wouldn't want anything more in the world then to make sure she's safe and keep her safe. He's been through hell and back ever since he was born..Klaus doesn't hate Rebekah or Elijah. When Klaus and Rebekah were kids, Klaus was always there for Rebekah and made her feel happy, loved, and cared for. He made her feel safe. Rebekah also looked up to him. Klaus also had lost Hailey. Klaus reallyy lost a lot of people, even as a newborn. He shouldn't lose anymore looking back to the same exact people who he feels isn't there anymore.

He believes that all he causes is pain that is why he is so paranoid and shut himself from everyone and became the one everyone was afraid of. Because he believed that being hated was better then being loved, that also why he shut Hope out of his life after she saw him killing somebody, he didn’t want her to get hurt that’s why he never visited her in the Salvatore school, because of the pain and hate he got from his father he believed that it was better for her to grow up without a father then with a terrible and one who could hurt her. He’s just scared of being loved, it’s as easy as that.

Nothing pains and makes me angry more than Rebekah having the audacity to ask Klaus "How could you have fallen so far?" Is like she hasn't been paying attention to what Mikael used to do to Klaus, what horrors made him live, it was clear Mikael never hunted them because i bet you if all of them had split up, Mikael would have still chosen to go after Klaus. What he became it was created by Mikael. He fell so far because he suffered at the hands of siblings who never truly understood him that turned their backs on him more than once, at the hands of a cruel father and a mother who never defended him.

Great collage of Niklaus's dirty deeds. I got my 12 year old daughter into the Originals and I told her that Klaus had a horrible upbringing. She currently loves Elijah the most and after 4 seasons she's watched she now also loves Niklaus too because she understands how innocent he was and how he is trying to become a better person for his daughter.
