I know in the lost world Hammond talked about how some in Ingen wanted him gone. So maybe those individuals kept operations going on Sorna until the hurricane hit and it became too dangerous to stay. I mean he was just a side character with a meer like 1 minute of run time in the first film but in jurassic world and fallen kingdom, he is the worst guy ever! @oahc10523 жыл бұрын
Just off the top of my head I'm thinking that while Hammond himself after the events of JP1 was quite adamant about wanting to stop all of their dinosaur activities, I'm sure there were a lot of other minds in the company and not least on the board of directors that thought he was out of his mind for wanting to completely scrap something that they've invested so much time and money in. Remember, they hadn't been on the island and experienced what Hammond had experienced. Even Hammond himself before the events of JP1 was aware of numerous accidents and risks concerning the park, but remained convinced that it was worth pursuing. In Crichton's book it is even explained that Hammond procured funding for the park from a fair number of investors, so there would be a lot of people interested in and possibly even demanding to see returns on those investments. I think it's perfectly plausible that the company would try to continue with the operations behind Hammond's back.

This sounds to me like fertile ground for a live action series. I absolutely love Camp Cretaceous and Battle at Big Rock was an incredible showcase of what more bitesized JP content has to offer. I would LOVE to see them meet fans halfway and make a live-action TV show covering the Fall of Isla Sorna. I want to see what Ingen was up to before the hurricane and what kind of hell was unleashed immediately after it made landfall. I doubt all the destruction in the worker village was the product of weather alone. It would be a great chance to showcase certain dinosaurs that we've haven't gotten to see in any of the movies like the Metri and Sucho. It would also be a great chance to fix some of JP3 missteps, like maybe have an Easter Egg of a Sorna Employee talking on the phone with a Mr. Grant, arguing about Raptors or maybe have someone mention that in order to avoid being sued by the experts who survived the Nublar incident that they settled on sending over the data they gathered from the animals on Sorna. I personally can't imagine that even after what happened on Nublar Dr. Grant would throw away the opportunity of using Ingen's knowledge of live Dinosaurs to further his own understanding and professional curiosity. The Grant we see in JP3 is bitter and angry, but I'd like to think that some lingering awe remained at least for the first few years after what happened on Jurassic Park. Ingen clearly had info on the animals. In TLW they had an entire pamphlet for the benefit of their hunter team, so why couldn't something similar have been made to appease Grant?

My bet is they were trying to perfect the cloning process, and possibly trying to develope bioengineered dino weapons. Remember in Jurassic World, how Vic Hoskins was so insistent on trying to field test the Raptors for military usage? Later on, it was revealed that remnants of N-Gen were still pulling strings behind the scenes (which led into Fallen Kingdom). They could have been doing this even back when Hammond was in charge. Heck, Simon Masrani didn't even know half of what was going on in the labs or what they were putting into his dinosaurs. FURTHERMORE, John Hammond's own nephew, Peter Ludlow wasn't afraid of going behind John's back (as well as the other shareholders of N-Gen). Who's to say that they weren't already considering using dinos as bioweapons? N-Gen could have returned between the events of The Lost World and JP3, off the books to try and clone and create new dino breeds for testing. This could also explain why Wu was responsible for the Spino that was cloned. They might have thought it would be a great base to build a bioengineered super-dino. Once the island was found out (shortly before JP3), it had to be left abandoned once again to avoid exposing N-Gen's presence. I've got a feeling that there were many things going on behind the scenes that Hammond had no idea about (Just as Masroni didn't know about Vic's agenda), or Hammond could have been blinded by childhood wonder at creating living dinosaurs to notice the obvious signs... And I got a funny feeling that BioSyn was mixed up with it as well (at least after the events of The Lost World). The plot thickens...
@jbcatz53 жыл бұрын
Based on one of your previous videos, could the lab be hybrid research that Hammond wasn’t aware of? Maybe Wu or someone using the cover of abandonment after Clarissa to have access to the facility and genetic material before something went very, very wrong.

In the lost world, Hammond mentioned that there were those in the company who wanted to use site b to bail them out after the fall of Jurassic park. Those people probably continued working in secret to get the park up and running while they convinced the rest of the company. However, they stopped when the hurricane released the Dino’s and forced an evac. Honestly I believe that the crew left on Sorna weren’t known to Hammond. He had a change of heart, but no one else did. His investors, COO, and anyone else at the top of the InGen food chain wouldn’t be happy just leaving millions of dollars in research to expire. They probably told Hammond that they stopped production and were just observing or something to that effect. They were lying to him so they could reorganize and try to get back on their feet. The hurricane came through, forced them to leave for real, and the plans were more or less abandoned as the company bled too much money to recover. Just an idea. The corporate world has always been one of backstabbing and lies anyway. Not too much of a stretch I’d say

I have a theory, before the events of the lost world, Hammond was at home aling in bed, he was fired as CEO and replaced by Peter before that. Maybe they were on the island because after 93, he would have been fired. Then Peter being the ruthless businessman he is, wanted to get back on Schedule ASAP. He would have had them on Sona cloning dinos. To have them be ready for the launch in 97. That could be why they were still on the island.
@glitterboy20983 жыл бұрын
that is my assumption.. that when hammond decided to cancel the park project, his investors and the board of directors started the procedure to remove him. leaving the rest of Ingen's programs (including site B) operating normally while the Board used lawyers and such to hammer out the agreement that puts Peter Ludlow in charge. Site B was lost before Ludlow could finish the transition (one of the scenes from the extended cut is of Ludlow leaving Hammond while Malcom comes in, having just obtained control of the company) thus requiring the capture expedition. but i suspect that the board of directors, on learning that the island park was lost, immediately decided to revert back to the San Diego "Jurassic zoo" concept and had site B working overtime to make animals to fill it.

The whole company must have been in panic mode at that time, between financial losses, screwed up timetables, scientists with budding god-complexes seeing their life work being destroyed. One could easily see these 2 years being seed bed for most of the shady sh*t that goes on later in the franchise. Elements of the company going rogue, Hammond could have lost control of the company as early as the events of first film, there might have been an atmosphere of do whatever it takes going around, especially among those who were particularly invested. Hell, it would explain In Gen's shift from neutral to evil in demeaner.

my dream JP movie or live action series, is following members of the InGen staff on Site B that decide to remain on the island during the hurricane and its aftermath and attempt in vain to keep together the island in a functioning order with a skeleton crew and failing systems.

Problem is, Jurassic Park isn't Star Wars. They just didn't really plan before or after as there is no EU.

Site B has always been a weird anomaly, even somewhat in the books. I do hope those Chameleon Carnos appear in the movies' canon at some point

Hey, Klayton. Do you think Jurassic World Dominion would be a 3 hour movie? Cause I would love seeing 2 or 3 hour movies. X3
@KlaytonFioriti3 жыл бұрын
I think 2 and a half hours is VERY possible

I don't know about the time discrepancies helping out to explain the Spinosaurus because wouldn't it take an animal that size at the least 15 years or more to get that big

The dinosaurs were genetically engineered to grow rapidly. We see this in Camp Cretaceous with bumpy.
