Thanks for posting this video. A lot has happened since you filmed this trip. Is the RoFE still around?

I can't remember her name but I asked her about her career and she had over 20 years in then and I would assume she has retired. Looked to be in her late 40s. NIce person and she was a biker.

@@klbird Thank you for your reply. She may well have retired by now.

Thanks for your comment. Today many locomotives are equipped with nose cameras that record the run. Most of it is deleted if there is no incident, such as a grade crossing accident or derailment .

It's interesting how the eye messes with the mind when it comes to speed. I know the train is going faster than it appears in video and yet it looks as if your crawling.

It's a Dash 9 and not a Dash 8 as described in the video. And then it's a GE and not EMD unit. Just to correct the issue.

OK, its not Pentrax quality but it was 21 years ago using a DAT recorder and Utube did a poor job in converting it. The cab ride was a gift for my 60th Birthday from an executive with BNSF.

Cab ride video is best done when on the normal setting, NOT zoomed out as the zoomed out setting gives a distorted feeling of speed as well as clarity. Videos will be best in focus if the automatic setting is cut off and by using manual only. Don't move the camera around as you would your own eyesight, it is hard to keep up by the viewer.
