Even if the raptr is goofy, its not like the saiga is much different beyond the more AK style aesthetic. I was just about to make a comment about this. His logic was flawed, as a youtuber who seems to get the lore of the game he should understand that it's very easy to make something like that into the zone (UNISG, Mercenarys, and wouldn't Ecologists have similar armaments?) Even if found on someone else not of those factions, couldn't you spin it lore wise that the original owner is now deceased? However I am inclined to agree with him about tarkov-esque guns, I find the amount of guns with PEQ-15’s or other junk irritates me, not so much that they’re there just more just how common kitted out guns are to find (excluding guns with just optics and/or suppressor). But I mean it’s stalker you drink vodka and smoke ciggies to cure acute radiation sickness so it’s easy enough to look past. Really wish grok would add some more ww2 surplus though we got a few like the G43 and kar98k, PPsH-41, etc but it would make sense lore wise with how many arms the soviets captured and proliferated through the USSR and it’s allies (stg-44s sent to Vietnam or redistributed to the LaSK for example) or lend-lease for allied weapons. Unrelated but I haven’t updated gamma for awhile did grok ever port anything from TAZ to Gamma? (know it’s kinda of meh but I liked the surplus guns)

I agree with you about the Tarkov-style guns. To me, STALKER feels best when the guns aren't too modern. Basic attachments and ergonomics, with maybe some experimental prototype stuff. But nothing too high-speed and tacticool operator looking.

@klean Great video. You may not have used a over/under shotgun in real life, but the recoil is kinda janky with it in this game. the barrel goes straight up like you are using a pistol. When shouldering a rifle type gun, the recoil goes straight back and not up like a pistol. Just a little thing that bothers me about the animation for the double barrel.

It’s way more unstable since it’s a combination of hundreds of mods AND it’s stalker. But when it works, it sure performs better than tarkov.

From what I’ve heard in the discord server, it’s a hardcoded aspect of enemy A-Life squads. Apparently the AI prioritises the highest threat to them based upon certain conditions and values such as; armour, weapon equipped, the current ranking you hold and if it’s higher than them, and also if you are the current squad leader of your group.

@@kleanisklean The Hera isn't from Tarkov tho It's a gun made by HERA Arms that uses a AR15 Upper. Which is what it's modeled after. A gun like that is exactly something that said factions you obtain them from would run. Because that's why there end game. Because they brought shit that wasn't defunct and jamming after every other shot.

Facts. Imagine bitching about weapons that you don't have to use, just because they aren't half-broken soviet surplus guns. Apparently putting a grip on a gun makes it too "tacticool" and obviously not Stalker. I think my man is just sick and tired of playing Tarkov and is projecting that onto the stuff that he sees here. Most players are more than happy to get their hands on tricked out endgame weapons, after working towards them all game. They also don't spawn them in via command console to complain about them.

nah i think he is saying that using impractical gucci ARs with those parts specifically doesnt really make sense in the zone, unless youre 15 years old and it "looks cool" and youre the type of "gun guy" to carry a desert eagle for the same reason.
