I have one in my car and purse. I found that the small one for my purse was not enough. As soon as someone knows you have Kleenex on you, everyone is asking for a couple tissues.

Love this! I'm always losing my tissues and the box is sometimes a pain because it is in a cardboard box. I think I'm going to sew a hanging loop in center of mine for hanging close to my sewing table. I use full size tissues a lot! Thank you for making this video.❤

Kathy in your video at the 4:12 minutes section of your video, where you are folding the second side/opposite side of the fabric 1/2 an inch. When you begin to iron the 1/2 inch folded fabric, you state, that “you save yourself because you’ve ironed the crease in it”. So, does this mean that because you created a double fold and ironed the fabric on the highest setting, it allowed the crease to lay down so perfectly flat that it is not necessary to sew the folded edges down? I’ve always been under the impression that you always have to finish a double fold with a 1/4 or 1/8 inch top stitch? I’m assuming, do to the fact that once the double folded fabric area of this Tissue holder is going to be pinned in the middle and then 5/8 inch is going to be sewn across the fabric, this is what will hold the folds in perfect place, correct? I’m a beginner in sewing and trying to teach myself so please excuse my silly questions. I’m so glad I found your tutorial as I have been wanting to learn how to make a full size tissue holder. Thank you for sharing!

Yes, is the answer to your question, Mireya. It’s up to you whether you sew it. If you want a seam, you could make it a decorative seam if you have fancy stitches on your machine. I didn’t want a seam so I didn’t sew it down. By being folded over twice it will stay put and not flip out as you pull tissues from the tissue holder. And welcome to my channel.

What brand is that iron?
@KathysKuteKreations2 жыл бұрын
The yellow and blue irons I use are Eliso. The color (there are several) determines the length of the cord. The white iron I occasionally use is a Rowena iron. It gets hotter than the Eliso ones do. I don’t put water in my irons anymore because I find that the iron will last longer. If you do want to use water in your iron than it needs to be dumped at the end of each day and you’ll need to put fresh water in in the morning.

Hi where did you get your sewing machine and table from? Also how much was your sewing machine.
@KathysKuteKreations4 жыл бұрын
My tables which have been pushed together (on their sides) I purchased from Walmart. They are also carried by Home Depot. They are like the long banquet tables. My sewing machine was purchased at my baby lock dealer. Now, since they no longer make that brand they are purchased used because they get traded in on the newer model sewing machine that come out. You could check your dealer to see if they have any. If you purchase from a dealer they usually give you a warranty. I have seen them on eBay before. I don’t recall the exact price I paid, but it was in the thousands. I had been saving for over eight years before I went looking for my machine. It is a sewing and embroidery machine. I have never regretted purchasing it.

Would this work for cloth tissues made of flannel? These are so cute and I’m trying to find a way to make a tissue box that will hold cloth tissue.
@KathysKuteKreations5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It sure would. Just make sure you measure the size for the tissue holder. Fold your tissues first to the size you want, then measure for the Kleenex holder.

Very cute idea ❤️👍🏻 What is the measurement on the small tissue pouch?
@KathysKuteKreations4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t have a set size because my little tissues are two different sizes. Measure the length of your tissue case and add 1in. As for the width you need two. For the bottom add 1in and for the top add 2 1/2” so you have enough to fold towards the inside for the opening on the top. This will give you enough so you can adjust the tightness or looseness of the fit around the Kleenex.

I have always wanted to make a full size tissue holder. I was trying to figure out why my tissues would fall to the bottom. I'm trying again but with 100% cotton (vs a blend) to improve the friction but also going to be careful about the length. Any other tips?
@KathysKuteKreations4 жыл бұрын
I would do a practice one first and then you can always tweak it for the one you’ll be keeping for yourself. I always do that. I use fabric I don’t like or muslin.

The door covers I was talking about are what you put down in front of your doors in the wintertime to keep the drafts from coming in making your floors cold. I did make a video. It’s called, Door Draft Video”. And mine works great!

@KathysKuteKreations4 жыл бұрын
Leanna, lay a small amount of tissues down on a table and then measure the length then add 1”. If your Kleenex are 9 1/2” long then make them 10 1/2”. If your width is 5 1/2” add 2” to 2 1/2” to make it 7 1/2” or 8”. Cut your fabric that size. 10 1/2” X 7/2” or 10 1/2 X 8”. Use muslin or fabric you don’t have to worry about if it doesn’t turn out the way you like. Hope this helps.
