Jenny, I want to thank you for taking the time to make all your videos. Unfortunately I have lung cancer and am no longer able to work, but I stumbled across your videos last month and bought a Singer 'Heavy Duty 4423' on eBay. I put my first lap quilt top together yesterday. I used the 'fence rail' pattern. I'm going to make these little lap quilts for everyone in my family using different patterns you teach.. Thank you!!!

I finally made this. I made 3 rows of 4. Added two pockets inside. It was a great learning experience. I will make more and they’ll come out with better handles than this first time. Thanks for the tutorial.

Awesome technique!! I had a "sewing school" at my house this week for my granddaughter and two nieces. They learned all about sewing machines and each made an adorable tote bag using this video as our instruction. Jenny, the girls, ages 9 & 11, were amazed at how wonderful their bags are as we'll as how fast you sew! We all agreed that you are brilliant!

I have watched this over and over. You -- Jenny Doan -- are the reason I am where I am today. I have a successful Etsy shop - of which 75% of the fabrics used for my items come from M*. I had a big, gaping whole in my soul at the time I first saw your first vid, and when I heard the sound of my machine (you were using in that vid), combined with your gentle voice, I allowed you to walk right into my life, and you've been there ever since. I hope someday we can meet in person. Nancy.

I LOVE that Ginny is always clear with her instructions, shows exactly how to do something and we can ALWAYS hear her. So many novice "How to" videos do not increase the volume of their voice, nor do they block out background noise. I turn those people off immediately and go straight to Ginny at The Missouri Star Quilt Company. She should always be your first stop when looking for quilting help! Thank you!!!

Oh Jenny, you are just the best!! I love ur tutorials. I made this bag for a 11-14 y/o girl in the operation Christmas child campaign done every year by Samaritan's Purse. I put all her goodies, to include a small sewing kit and some brightly-colored, printed fat quarters, then I put everything into her box to go overseas. I'm so excited that I was able to make this purse so that she could keep all her things together. You made it so simple even I could do it. I'm brand new to sewing/quilting and I could follow ur instructions with ease. If I could now just figure out how to post a picture to show the finished product I'd amaze myself yet again. Keep these wonderful, simple projects coming. You're the bomb!!!!!!!

Loved this so I made some. As for the leftover 6 charms I just used 2 per tote to make pockets on the lining. I sewed one onto each side. For me I needed one for my cell phone and the other for my glasses. I also added buttons for extra security to where the straps meet the bag. For the pockets I ironed in the raw edges and topped stitched all around and then I used a zigzag to attach. Worked out well and like Jenny always says "I don't like to waste" :D What a great easy project. Thanks Jenny as always!

I've been sewing a long time but never felt the need to quilt until I saw the Missouri Star tutorials, pretty much by chance. It always seemed like hard work but in the last week I have made a quilt top, a Dresden plate cushion cover (and I am making another as a rug) and one of these very cute totes. I can't believe how easy things go together. It took me a little while to get used to not backstitching every seam and tying off ends but how liberating is that! Your efforts are very much appreciated - I'm sure if I paid for a course to learn all this in the UK it would cost a small fortune. Thank you so much

Hi Jenny :) I just completed my first to this tutorial! I used a very colorful 2 1/2" charm pack I had on hand to give it more color pop and sewed them up to meet dimensions. I added an inside pocket as well with a velcro closure and made just one wide strap that's shorter so it;s just over my shoulder and higher up on my hip.. Well, I LOVE how it turned out!! , so colorful and eye catching! :) I will be making more as gifts for sure with some other twists and turns just to see how different they can look. Thank you so much for the dedication of time you give to your tutorials with so much helpful information. You are the BEST!! :)

Thank you Jenny! I am relatively new to sewing on a regular basis. Hubby just bought me a sewing machine last Christmas, as the one I inherited from my parents after their divorce, has never worked properly. I've been fighting using it for 20 years. So far with this machine I've made rice bags, pot holders, eye masks and simple block baby quilts. Also one skirt and a matching scarf. But last week I knocked out several of your zipper pouches, and just now I made this bag! (I did mine 4 blocks wide, rather than 3). I am TRULY grateful for your instructional video's! You make me feel like a pro!! I'm going to be so excited giving all these treasures away this Christmas!!

I just made a tote bag using 9 charms on each side, I LOVE IT. I love the pattern and the way it goes together. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I have the first Bookazine with the pattern but the video tutorial really does it for me, thanks again. Janet Jaeger

Yeah I have made a bag using your video. Your instructions are very clear. I cut my squares from the bottom of my curtains that I had shortened and found some matching material. This is a first in quilting for me. Thanks again
