Could you make some videos about installation connectors on thicker coaxial cables, please? For example for antenna cables (there bigger BNC Connectors too).

Thanks dude. Very helpful. I bought the tools, then googled "how to use coax tool" with the brand name and your vid was the first suggested. It worked out perfectly. (My cats tore the wires out of the wall, so I just tried to redo the shit they fucked up) my cats are still alive btw. I love them lil dinks, and didn't even scold them, because I didn't catch them in the act. Cats are pretty cool. Even though they are, like I said, dinks.

I do like this kit; however, I noticed, when working with RG 6, using the cutter tool, that the cutting blade gets slightly damaged when cutting through the center conductor. I don’t know if the center conductor is made out of steel coated with copper, or just pure copper, or hardened copper. They should have made the blade to rated to cut ACSR to keep the blade sharp. Brand new kit and I noticed the small damage on the blade after cutting only two times.

Would you recommend skipping the kit with these cutters if I already have ACSR diagonal cutters? Or is the shear important for coax?

A lot of coax cables have ACSR inside. For those you had better use another cable cutters ( I use Jonard cutter that officially can cut ACSR cables).

Once you strip the cable, aren't you supposed to fold down the braided wires/threadings?

That's how I used to do it years ago but I haven't seen any professional installers do that anymore. Haven't had any issues without bending the shielding back on coax connectors.

I like the ideal kit version its a better kit and they carry it at the homedepot. The klein compression bnc fittings are my favorite they always work better than others brands.

@@lowvoltagedude7837 was late when I wrote that. Meant the stripper. But the cutter is very nice too and lighter than the diagonal cutters I used to carry when working with coax.

Very helpful - can you please advise should I use rg6 tri or quad shield for Comcast modem - told I need to run a "home run" cable from basement splitter to wall outlet and direct to router. Any and all information is helpful - thank you

As I mentioned in the video, she fittings work others didn't. If you're not or don't want to be consistent with your fittings you might want to spend a little more on an adjustable crimper.
